Finally A Little Good News....
Today we had the third interview with the local news reporter. They wanted to film how different things look now that the animals are all gone and us loading the truck to move stuff to a storage unit. We were inside and filming when the phone rang. It was Loretta, our mortgage counselor. She had spoken to the bank and they are postponing the sale on Friday and they are working on letting us just sign over the deed. I think I just cried when she told me that. I felt like a burden had been lifted. She's waiting on the paperwork now. She couldn't of called at a better time. It was almost like it was planned as the tv reporter got it all on film.
She's sending me the housing grant information for Wendell to fill out so we can get that going. We'll still be moving stuff but at least we won't be rushed in thinking we only have two days left.
Thank you all for the prayers.... their working!!!
Debbie

Oh, that IS good news. A deed in lieu will allow you to put this behind you once and for all with no threat of it biting you in the rear later.
But - be careful - I'm not sure - I think the new laws changed this - but it used to be that cancelled debt counted as income on your taxes. Be sure to check into this and be prepared just in case.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
