Default Need help for brother in Fla.

My brother is getting laid off and he takes insulin shots. Is there anywhere that he can get his meds free.He lives in Ft, Myers, Fla. and since I live in Va. I have no idea where to tell him to go. Any help is appreciated. Even links to free meds will be greatly appreciated.

He can contact the drug company that makes his particular insulin and see if they offer a program for people who cannot afford their medication.

From what I have read, most drug companies do have some type of program to assist. I would think he could ask his pharmacist if he is aware of any programs that assist with medications.

*** Also, I know the endocrinologist I see gives her patients their insulin for free if they cannot afford it. He might look into asking his endocrinologist if he/she has any advice as to where to get help. I have seen many of her patients come in and pick up their bag of medicines.

I am not sure if every county in Florida is the same. However when I lived in Citrus and Hillsborough counties, people could get free or reduced meds through the pharmacy in the department of health.
