    [COLOR="DarkOrchid"][I]They did that at my job. They asked for 20"volunteers" to resign. Problem is that they got their 20and now they are upto 35 layoffs with rumors that there will be more come March/April evals. So much for 20 "volunteers. Messed up thing is my company was 1 of 2 in their industry that NETTED over $2.8 BILLION last year. I guess enough is never enough for some people! Oh even better yet the Monday after they were "swinging the ax" they sent out emails to everyone inviting them to "Floor Socials" (We have 25 floors in our building) These "Floor Socials" are where they bring in beer/wine, cheese, fruit, crackers, salads, pastries etc. Sorry, but for a company claiming "hard times" after Netting $2.8 Billion, I don't think continuing to waste money on these types of events are very ethical, especially when they are laying people off.

    maybe you can babysit some kids for some other moms who work? just to bring in some extra income just in case? not sure if that is an option for you or not. good luck !
