My sweet DH called from work tonight to tell me his job is laying him off on Saturday (ugh - 2 days' notice) - Poor guy is trying to be strong, but I know it's really getting to him. I'll be waiting at the door to give him major hugs as soon as he gets home. We are trying to keep a positive attitude, and he's going to be in line at the unemployment office on Monday a.m., and we're going to apply for food stamps too (already been thinking of that). Thankfully, we have each other, and I'm glad I can come here and talk to y'all about it too. We know everything happens for a reason, so we're looking forward to the next step for us. Just needed to share I reckon, so I appreciate anyone who has read this...Thanks!
Ohhh, I am so sorry. This is getting unbelievable and scary!!! I am glad you are going to be waiting for him to give him hugs....probably the best thing he will need. And good thinking ahead on your part...it will help ease his worries. Sending hugs prayers and positive vibes.
You are going to be ok, it may not seem like it now, but you will be. As long as the 2 of you work at this together, it will make you stronger in the end. Be sure to take advantage of all the money saving, meal plans, etc that you can get from here.
My husband was laid off in July, he is still laid off...if I wouldn't have found this site, I am not sure what kind of situation we would be in. You already are planning ahead, that is great!
Good luck to you...and keep your chin up!
I can't believe they only gave him two days notice. This stinks. Best wishes and loads of thoughts and prayers going your way. Keep up the positive attitude, and the two of you will find a way to get through.
I am so sorry, will keep you in my thoughts & prayers.
What about getting some kind of help with your utilities? I know here they help low income pay for electric & natural gas.
Your DH is very blessed to have a supportive wife there to comfort him.
Let's face it, things like this are a blow to a man's ego. Most were raised knowing that they were responsible for their family and even though these layoffs have nothing to do with them personally, I'm sure it's a "hit" to their "manhood".
Talk things through and keeping loving eachother. You can get through this! :hug2:
I am sorry to hear this. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts. I hope that something better comes along for your DH soon.
