We're a two cell, no landline household. It was kinda funny though when I got behind on the cable due to lost work time due ti illness that they tried signing me up for phone also when I called to work out a payment plan to get caught up.
Keep a seat warm for me Ann, I'll be joining you soon.

I'm sorry to hear about your jobloss!
We have a digital cable+ internet package and make all outgoing phonecalls with Skype (free computer to computer), VoipWise and VoipBuster (both free computer to landline).
Most have a fair use policy, which comes down to 5 hours a week, so we have several accounts to use. We do use it fairly, it's all private calls, but because we live abroad we reach the 5-hour mark rather quickly when we call our friends back home.
In addition we also have a landline, but just for incoming calls. We pay around $10/month for this. We can make outgoing calls, but it will be more expensive than normal, and the emergency number is not free.
