Awe honey, I'm so sorry! I know you being pregnant makes you feel so helpless. Just keep being frugal with your money. And yes, absolutely apply for anything and everything that is available to your family right now. My dh is laid off too. He got a job a new job and got laid off 1 1/2 weeks later! It's just crazy! We are waiting on some paperwork and then we will be applying for everything too. I hate to do it but if it's helps us keep the things we have worked so hard for, then we need it.
Our county has a one time food assistance program and they also help with heating bills and perscriptions. Check out everything available and ask lots of questions to get you guys through this rough spot. Hang in there. There really is a rainbow over the horizion, I just know it!"Success on any major scale requires you to accept responsibity."

*hugs*
Things will eventually get better they always do on this roller coaster we call life. In the mean time though definately get all the assistance you can expecially pregnancy medicaid and medicaid on your babies, that will hopefully pay for your baby to be born and incase god forbid one of your children would get sick you could take them to the dr for like $3.
If you don't already look into cloth diapers for at home use since you have 2 in diapers right now that will help with costs in the long run. http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf69871475.tip.html

Sorry to hear that your DH got laid off. I would apply for anything & everything. If you apply for Medicade ask what all you qualify for.

Thank you everyone for your support. It's very encouraging to hear some of the stories from people who were in the position I am in now. We have applied for all the assistance we can and have qualified for most even before this happened (if only I would have known!). I am going to apply for WIC, and we currently use cloth diapers, so I think and pray we will be okay. Thanks again!

I hope everything works out for you... another thought would be if family or friends are planning on giving you a baby shower and ask what you want/need, you might want to ask for grocery gift cards, as you probably have all the baby gear/clothes you need from your other baby.
