What Next??? - Part 2
Well, I mentioned in my previous post that DH was having some health issues and had been off work for a week. Yesterday we had to go back to his neurologist to find out the results to the MRI they did on Wednesday. Well.... they found something in his spinal cord and the doctor rushed him to the hospital to be admitted for a spinal tap an hour later. Their suppose to do an MRI of the brain today which has me wondering if the doctor isn't telling us everything right off. Just told us that they want to make sure everything there is ok. They are putting him on a IV treatment of steroids every 12 hours and he'll be in the hospital at least thru the weekend.
DH is worried his insurance won't pay anything but the doctor and I told him, IT has to be addressed now! So now there is no money coming in at all. Bless my Daddy, he loaned me enough money to pay two of the three months we're behind on the mortgage so that should slow them down from calling everyday.
The mortgage company called today and I talked to a guy who says I can still fax yet another form to them with another explanation of what's going on and they will expidite it quicker. We'll see. We may still have to put the place up for sale but at least we have a chance at selling it and downsizing considerable.
*big sigh* Thanks for listening. Just had to talk.....

Debbie, I hope things work out for you. I know this is frightening.
I'd ask some direct questions... like, do they think it's MS, Lou Gehrig's?
You have a right to answers and information... don't let them not tell you.

Update 04/19/08
Well, just got home from the hospital and we know what it is. DH has Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Unfortunately his doctor is out of town this weekend and we've had to deal with his associate, a foreigner, who we have a hard time understand. Thank God for the wonderful nurses he has because they've been great at giving him information. When I left tonight he wasn't as upset as the day before.
He's undergoing a steroid treatment for five days which means he's more than likely going to be in the hospital till Tuesday. I've been going in the mornings as soon as I get our animals fed and taken care of then staying all day cause he wants me there. I'm so tired. At least my son came over today and stayed long enough to get everyone taken care of for the night so all I had to do is close up the chicken coop.
The doctor seems to think DH won't be able to continue his present job and may have to find something else. (he works in a farm store and is on his feet 8 - 10 hours a day and constantly lifting 50lb feed bags, etc.) The hospital Social Worker talked with us briefly last night and told us of programs we may be eligible for so we're both feeling a little better after the shock.
Thank you all for your prayers! They mean so very much!
Debbie

Check out your local Vocational Rehabilitation place as well ... they can train your husband for a job that he could physically do
