I'm a Conservative Democrat. I hope I'm not all alone here.

At the risk of violating the kith forum rules, I don't hold with Libertarian either - while we have common goals, the foundation of Libertarianism is pretty much anything goes if it doesn't hurt anyone else.
While I hold that, while it is by no means Government's job to tell us HOW to live, we should still all chose to live long term, and that means not living a hedonistic lifestyle of whatever feels good.If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I only choose to vote Republican because it's the closet to conservative...it honestly hasn't been as conservative (economically, morally, religious, etc.) as I would like for a long time... But, that's who will get my vote...
I would love to see Huckabee as McCain's running mate.

I would definitely call myself conservative, but not a republican. I am not a democrat either. I usually register as an independent. Neither party really represents my views. That said, I usually vote republican because they are closer to my views.

Yep, you can't really let the party name drag you down. You just have to vote with whomever you feel is going to do what is right according to your convictions. Geez, I voted for Jimmy Carter back in the day because I didn't care for the alternative. Anyways, at the risk of turning this into a bandwagon, IMHO there is a need to get this country back to the principles it was founded on.

Be Blessed,
Di

I am a conservative leaning libertarian.
I dislike the republicans on capital hill... I only like *true* conservatives, which they are not...it seems to me libertarians are more conservative than republicans these days.
