    Default Any Beekeepers?

DH and I have our first two packets of bees arriving April 17th, and I was wondering if there were any other beekeepers in FV land?

Maybe not, so far we are discovering it's an expensive hobby - LOL!
In the end though, we hope to produce and sell honey and bee made products at the local farmer's market, along with wild flowers, tomatoes and zucchini.

My daughter's step-mom, grandparent's are beekeepers and they make money from it.

Here they sell it at the farmers market downtown. I don't know much about it but I could ask them questions for for you.

You just reminded me to post in the "what ya free in April thread."

After all these years, my daughters dad doesn't like honey and my daughter loves it and came home with three huge jars of it!

( FYI,this is why I am not vegan)

My father kept bees for years. It definitely wasn't a big profit machine but we always had honey, and he probably made enough to cover his expenses. Bees are a wonderful relaxing pasttime regardless of whether or not you make money from them. I'd love to be able to keep them.
