I did last year's and didn't hit the 50,000 mark (I was woefully under at only 32,000). But it was helpful and very neat. I used it as an opportunity to churn out my own mini-bio. Although that will likely never be published it did help me address a few things. This year, I'm trying again but doing a fantasy novel. I was curious if there are any other budding "authors/writers" out there that are trying the NaNoWriMo.

I've had, for a long time, a desire to write a novel and be published (one of those bucket list things). I'm sure if I set myself down to it, I could do it. I'm rather verbose (yes, I know -- horrible when doing an online format) and actually write/manage two blogs of my own right now. Fiction writing allows my creative side to emerge. In particular, it lets my "knight in shining armour" to, well, shine.

Info: for those wondering it's not Mork from Ork speak but rather National Novel Writing Month -- a site dedicated to trying to write a novel of 50,000 words or more in a month (always held every November). The goal is to write, write, and write some more (leave editing until after you've churned stuff out).
