    Default Saving for a House?

Is anyone else saving up to buy a house?

I used to be a homeowner, but due to the recession and my late husband's illness and passing I sold and am starting over in a different state. Living in an apartment now and I miss having my own home and garden. Looking forward to having a little house and a plot of earth to call my own. If all goes well that will happen sometime in 2012.

We are also looking to buy a house but outright or through a land contract. We too live in an apt no room for a garden or for planters, we miss having a garden. We are looking forward to a house that is much quiter than where we are now.

I know this is an oldie but I thought I would throw in my two cents...Yep I am also saving to buy a house here in Texas outright. All of my family and friends think I am nuts but I already have 28% saved toward my goal...so a few more years and I should be able to do it. I just can not see signing a mortgage at 49 years old.

I'm saving to buy a trailer. There is a nearby park that has been well maintaned and although most of the trailers are older it still looks really nice, even the empty lots look good. The management must have some strict standards, which is a good thing. Oh and no dogs allowed! A BIG plus for me. I love dogs but I hate all the barking from dogs that are not well trained.

Do you have to pay fees to park your trailer? Wouldn't it be better to rent a trailer and save for a house that will increase in value?
