I started collecting the DVD's of the shows about a year ago. I don't have much time to sit and read like I want, so the movies will have to do and I only watch them when i have the time (rarely have a lot of free time). I'm actually working towards building a similar way of life that is reminiscent of the show, of course working with my Amish neighbors helps a bit too. Thus far, I have the buckboard wagon and a few 19th century hand me down antiques in full operational condition. I also buy from Lehmans and make my own tools.. Some day I'll have the timber frame home as well.
Little House and the Waltons are my two favorite family shows and tv producers don't make such quality shows like they use to.Last edited by Tatter; 08-03-2011 at 03:49 PM. Reason: spelling

I grew up watching LH and still love it! A few weeks ago I watched it with my son and shared with him how it was my favorite show when I was a little girl.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this already, read Alison Arngrim's book, "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch." It's quite good--my library had it, and me, my husband, and mother in law all read it within about a week.
