Stay at home housewife here also.

Wish we had a board for us just so we could
    share the advantages and disadvantages.

    And everything else.

FV has enough boards already though.

I recently graduated from college, and looking back, I think you would have called me an over achiever. Straight As, for the most part...never went out with friends. For the past 6 years of my life or so (since highschool), I have been stressed out, and totally out of control of my time.

Recently married and teaching piano lessons at home, I LOVE being a SAHW.

hi everyone, this is my first post here.

I'm a stay at home mum too. I've been the homemaker for 3 years now with my eldest being 6 and my youngest coing up to 3 shortly.

I am currently studying a psychology degree too

Well, I have gotten used to being a SAHW finally and thoroughly enjoy the lack of pressure on my life and time.

That being said.........My dh has now retired and is at home all of the time. Now I am going through a BIG adjustment again. Learning to be around each other all of the time is quite different.

I'm glad someone woke this thread up. I'd never seen it before today. I am considering becoming a SAHW, and the comments have been encouraging. I'll enjoy hearing what others have to say on the matter.

I haven't had a job in 8 months, so I've become a SAHW. My only child is grown and has lived on his own for years.

It's been an adjustment. I vacillate between being really happy to have the freedom to do whatever, whenever and take care of things at home to depression over being out of work and out of the loop.

I do teach belly dance 3 times a week, so I bring home a little money, but not much. I think I might actually be busier now than I was when I was working!
