Difficult Sleeping Kith?
Anyone?
I think my issues are hormonal, but I wake up repeatedly through the night most nights and sometimes even go through periods of insomnia for a few hours in the middle of the night...ugh...frustrating.

Oh yea me too. Mine is hormonal (and heredity). I noticed the "change" practically the day after my complete hysterctomy. Yes, I take some natural hormones, enough to keep the night sweats and hot flashes at bay, but nothing can seem to help my fitfull sleeping. I don;t really mind, though. I LIKE just laying in bed resting. So I usually go to bed early, around 9ish, and I wake up 4-7 times throughout the night. Sometimes I can just roll over and go back to sleep, other times I am wide awake. I don;t like to get up...so I just lay there. Pretty much my "rules" are that if I wake up after 4 and cannot go back to sleep, I get up, otherwise, I just lay there and rest nice and comfy and warm.
ps - when my dh is out of town, I will take my computer to bed and if I wake up, I'll get on my laptop........can't do it when he's home though!

Yup. Between hot flashes, night sweats and constant stress from being a 24/7 caregiver to my diabled Momma I rarely get enough sleep.

See, once I'm asleep I'm usually good. It's falling asleep that is very trying for me.

Falling asleep is very easy for me it's the staying asleep that's the hard part. I wake up to go to bathroom & then cant get back to sleep because the ole brain starts thinking about "stuff". Trying to turn the brain off and relax enough to go back to sleep is easier said than done.

My brain won't stop either. And then i get on the "what if's" and my night is done. I won't get to sleep, and if i do i can't stay that way.

Falling asleep is hard for me because my mind keeps going. I'm usually up at least once a night to go to the bathroom but don't have any trouble falling back to sleep afterwards usually.

I'm with you girls. Usually falling asleep is no trouble. I do usually awake a few times and sometimes no matter what time it is I have to get up and either watch t.v. or surf on my computer for at least an hour to get back to sleep. Frustrating.

Also, as another thought...for you ladies that have trouble sleeping because of random thoughts or worry...have you ever tried to write down what is bothering you? Put it on a piece of paper and then set it on your nightstand with the mental intention of handling those issues when you arise in the morning. 2 a.m. is not the time to solve problems effectively anyway. Maybe if you tell your brain that tomorrow morning is worry time, you can train it slowly to stop the obsessive thoughts. There are also medications available to slow down the excessive thoughts that seem uncontrollable.
I know it's easier said than done because I was a worry addict. Now I'm reformed, thank God.
Did you ever hear the statement, "Worry is a debt you may never have to pay?" Often times the very things we worry about work themselves out.
Here's hoping for more peaceful nights' sleep!

Yep! Going through that now. Certain times, around thisI think my issues are hormonal, but I wake up repeatedly through the night most nights and sometimes even go through periods of insomnia for a few hours in the middle of the night
time, of the month I'll have about a week of waking
up and not being able to go back to sleep right away.
Now an hour before time to get up I can fall back
asleep.
Me too. But mine is Peri menopausal.Oh yea me too. Mine is hormonal
I don;t really mind, though. I LIKE just laying in bed resting. So I usually go to bed early, around 9ish, and I wake up 4-7 times throughout the night. I too was having problems sleeping and it was hormonal among other things until......I tried melatonin. Just 3 mg at bed time allowed me to sleep the night through. If I have to get up to go potty, I fall right back asleep. You might give it a try. It doesn't make me sleepy the next day, I just feel great...but make sure you are not short changing yourself by going to bed too late.
The body makes melatonin naturally, that's what makes you sleepy, but sometimes we don't make enough. It is gentle enough the Dr. told me I could use it with my granddaugter who has sleep issues.
Here's to a good night's sleep.

See what I mean?
It's 5:33 am right now, woke up at
4:00 am exactly.
But it only last for about a week." May we never let the things we can’t have or don’t have or shouldn’t have spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. I have this problem every night. I have no problem falling asleep but I constantly wake up through out the night. Most of the time I can just fall right back to sleep but other times I am awake for awhile.
