    Default Forensic Show Kith

    DH says I'm morbid.

I LURVE to watch CSI, and documentary-type programs about forensics. I also like Forensic Files, Body of Evidence, Most Evil, Dr. G medical examiner, stuff like that.

I mean, of course the crimes themselves are sad, but seeing what they can do nowadays to catch the criminals is so interesting.

    Any Forensic geeks?

oh yes, i fit here! i love forensic type shows. autopsy on hbo was another fave of mine.

i have a degree in criminal justice and wanted to go back to school and go into forensics... got married and became a stay at home mom instead. oh well, i can live vicariously thru tv just fine.

we were coming thru town one day and was diverted by the police because of a car wreck. my then 4 year old son said "i sure hope they were wearing their seatbelts, or they're going to have to go see the doctor. DR. G!"
so yeah, its a family thing here.

    Default Any Forensic geeks?

Oh yea thats me I watch it everyday...anything remotely related (but it has to be real or fact based...no CSI for me))I will watch it or dvr it..Crime Stories took me back a little bit w/real actual crime scenes photo's..ya know all the blood and guts thingie..the only time any of theses shows bother me and I have to turn the channel is when it involves little kids..I get really upset and have nightmares..other then that I could watch them all day long..

Haha! Your 4 yr old cracks me up!

I was a nurse (retired) and I am thinking more and more I should have worked with the dead rather than the living. I liked the living though. The dead are just --interesting.

I would rather work w/ the living.. watching and actually seeing dead people our 2 totally different worlds. Every time I see a dead person (I'm a CNA & work in the geriactrics field ) and have to do post-mortem care your mind tends to play tricks on you..like you think they are breathing when their really aren't or the sounds the body makes after death also makes you think their still alive..I've gotten pretty use to it after 22yrs..but there are still moments when it freaks me out..

I love the forensic shows, the CSI's, NCIS, Bones, Cold Case, House and the Dr G shows to scratch the surface. Favorite author is Patricia Cornwell with her Kay Scarpetta series! Love those. I've read many non-fiction books on forensics as well, it just fascinates me.

I watch most of those shows too... thought about going into it since I'm already an RN, not much more to be a forensic nurse...
but then I get over it because I realize it would not be like watching it on TV.
All in all the shows are interesting although I'd say sugar coated for TV viewers... and not exactly like real life.
