I agree. Just the thought of having the same thing on any given night makes me 'not hungry'.........maybe a new diet??

I don't do it now and I didn't do it when I had kids at home. But I had a well enough 'stocked' pantry that I had lots of choices.

I do sorta.. Not the specific meal but a general idea

Monday - Meatless ( this means a soup or bean dish )
Tuesday- ground Turkey or hamburger ( this means something like tacos or a casserole that uses ground meat )
Wednesday- chicken breast ( how it's served and what it was served with was up to my mood )

and so on with the rest of the week. Essentially what this means is that every Wednesday of the month was chicken but it was never prepared in the same way.

I have gotten away from this but it really was easy

I have used this plan for years, BUT only for breakfast and lunch. Those are my hardest meals to come up with (I homeschool and we eat these meals at home). For dinners, I plan around what our activities for the day are (if I have to be out all day, it's something in the crockpot) if I'm home all day, it's more elaborate.

Today i did a weeks worth a shopping with the idea of a meal plan for the week and spent 50 for the week and that gives us a great variety since i picked up all our meat for the week in the mark down bin. All our veggies were frozen and since it's to hot to bake i bought pbj and crackers for snacks and fruit I'm putting my foot down this week about going back to the store until next friday. If we have to eat pancakes and bacon and eggs and bacon for dinner they will and love it really lol. Thank you all for the help and suggestions I am listening.
