I haven't made as much progress as I would have liked. Of course I have used items not on my original list, today using LO corn muffins from the freezer.

    1/2 loaf sliced bread
    1/2 loaf french bread

    partial bag egg noodles
    2 bags frozen veggies
    about 2 table. tomato paste
    spaghetti sauce small amount
    frozen strawberry jam
    1 cup chicken broth
    partial bag cut broccoli
partial bags of choc chips and butterscotch chips--I see some cookies in my future

from the pantry the only items that have passed their 'date'
    can sliced mushrooms
    4 cans beans sprouts
    can stewed tomatoes
    Terry

Just went grocery shopping and filled my freezer for the month...meat mostly. And my fridge...lots of produce. We'll see how I do. Shouldn't need to shop for anything other than milk and eggs for the next two weeks.

Used up some Swiss chard from the fridge. It was partly wilted, so went in a crustless quiche.

I haven't been posting in about 2 weeks, but circumstances have forced us to eat from our pantry and freezer. We usually spend $300 a month on groceries. This month, about $200.

Not only have I been using lots of what is already here, I have gotten creative also!

I took a little leftover sloppy joe meat mix and added some leftover frozen rotel and fresh peppers from the garden and some spices as well as some pinto beans I cooked with an old ham bone to make some great chili beans!

I cooked up 1 pound of sausage for a breakfast supper and used the leftover sausage to make homemade pizzas using free frozen hamburger buns, homemade pizza sauce (from last years tomatoes), and the leftover sausage!

    muffin mix
    canned tuna
    canned chicken
    crutons
    taco sauce
    tortillas
    cheesy potatoes
    mac n cheese
    hamburger helper
    cheese (2 packs)
broccolli and cheese rice box meal
    sloppy joe sauce
    potatoes
    cucumbers
    jello

    shredded chicken (lasted 3 meals)
    pierogies
    fish sticks
    blueberry cobbler
    frozen pizza
    biscuits
    sausage
    hamburger meat (3 packs)
    mixed veggies
    chicken strips
    chicken tetrizini

Ready for next month, I have made menus for the first 2 weeks of the month. We will be on vacation for 5 days, so I am hoping to stretch the existing
meals for the rest of August.

Well, I didn't join for July, but I will definitely be in for August. I went through my pantry and cleaned and organized it. Threw out a couple of expired things, some old cereal out for the birds. I have, have, have to eat out of my pantry and freezer and not waste any more food!
