I am not sure what we will be doing in the near future, we may have a move coming up. So I am clearing the pantry as much as possible in case I have to move it.

I'm thinking about tonight...it will be pork tenderloin, baked potatoes, and a vegetable...hmmm...maybe some greens...with applesauce for the pork...and maybe I'll pull out some dilled carrots and beans for me and Bread and butter pickles for DH. I think we'll skip dessert. We had it last night.

Well. I took an inventory and came up with at least 2 weeks of meals. I will have to buy carrots (I use them in everything) and maybe some other vegetables.

This has been a good exercise for me. I found *3* jars of opened applesauce in the fridge! DH couldn't find one this morning, so got another from the cold room. Meanwhile I had one open on a different shelf! Time to clean the fridge!
Used today:

We had potato soup for dinner. It was made out of leftover gravy and leftover mashed potatoes.
I used up:
one tub of sausage gravy
one tub of sausage/bacon gravy
one tub of rosemary mashed potatoes
a few potatoes that were starting to sprout
almost the rest of the bag of peas and carrots (remainder of a 5 lb bag)
garlic (one more use left in the jar)
It is pretty good, but it really needs a handful of bacon bits or something tossed in. Oh yeah, the tubs are reused 64 oz yogurt tubs. This made a huge amount of soup.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

I sure hope that "1 chicken live" is supposed to be "liver" and not a real live chicken in your freezer. **chuckles** Well, I guess it wouldn't be "live" for long in the freezer, now would it? But still, I can't imagine it being easy to pluck or take out the groddy bits if it is frozen live.
I am so sorry, but I got the best giggle out of that typo. Thanks. I needed that today.Beak-1996, Toad-1998, and Q-1998

I noticed that too. Brought a smile to my face.
Thanks oheoh's momma.
I used up some fridge leftovers for lunch and a can of sardines for supper. Tried to give away another can of sardines, but my friend didn't want it. Oh well.
Did grocery shopping this morning and brought in $141 worth of food.
Most of it was nuts, GF foods, fruits and vegetables, and will last well past Christmas. No meat.
Eating has become so expensive.

so last night i pulled out two packets of beef because i wanted to make beef and brocoli for supper tonight. the packets were frozen solid and i wanted to marinate them. i put them in the sink in cold water and promptly forgot about them until this morning.
they sat out all night.
i had to throw them out this morning. they were warm. what a waste.

Well, the Chikn Patties are still in the freezer. <sigh>
I woke up with a wicked craving for something salty/fatty and fried up some Spam (it's a guilty pleasure of mine.) Ate two slices and left them on the counter to cool before I put them in the fridge. DH walked over from next door to use the bathroom and noticed them. When he came back again for lunch he asked where the Spam slices were and made a Spam sandwich. I'll try again tomorrow to get rid of the Chikn patties.

Well, if it makes you all feel any better, I changed my menu yet again. Seems I can never stick to a fixed menu. I like to have options to pick and choose from. After grocery shopping I added a few options to the menu.
I did have sardines tonight. Yum! And a chocolate pudding I made lactose free, sugar free, gluten free, and soy free. It didn't taste very good. We won't try that recipe again.
I think I'll be writing all my menus in my calendar in pencil, so I can erase them and change them every day!
