    thursday was a busy day
no one was home at same time to eat
i picked up one of those rotisserie chickens because it smelled good and i love them LOL
    6.99
    corn- 1 can 49c
so people ate this or leftovers from spaghetti or chicken cassarole - i had a headache and went to lie down once i made sure myself and the youngest ds were fed dd2 fed self when she got home from basketball game she cheered at - rest served themselves .
    7,48 for 6 of us or ~ 1.25 each

i dont cook fridays as soon as oldest hit teen years i realized what i cooked often didnt get eaten - this one had to be here or there . teens sometimes have activities or go watch games and use their allowance to buy pizza etc .

i slept thru dinner saturday ( lack of sleep night before - long day volunteering at cheer comp and then worked - came home crashed for a few hours - i think dh made them spaghetti a pack of pasta 50c and a jar of sauce would have been 99c

WOW! Tonight's meatless dinner blew me out of the water. Two years ago I wouldn't have even blinked at this meal but tonight I am saddened at how expensive such a simple meal can cost.

    Portobella Pizza's
Bella's - $4.00 (six to a pack for $5.99 and these are the last four)
    Green Pepper - .16
    Onion (on DH's shrooms only) - .03
Homemade Pizza Sauce - Free - leftover from the other night
    Mozzarella Cheese - $1.05
    Parmesan Cheese - .10
Bread - $1.10 (I used sub rolls from the deli that were in the freezer)
    Butter - .54
    Garlic Powder - .02
I also threw on a few fresh spinach leaves just to bump up the nutrition. Not even enough to try to calculate.

    Grand Total - $7.00

Even though it's a little late, we still haven't eaten yet so I'm not sure what will be leftover. I know for sure I'll only be able to eat one so there will be at least one shroom leftover. I also skipped the salad I had planned because we've got plenty and it's mostly all veggies anyway.

I'll be bowing out from my own challenge.

We knew that DH would be heading out west at some point in time during the month but never had a firm travel date so I pushed forward. Turns out he'll be leaving in a few days and that's going to skew all my meal choices, and pricing, moving forward.

I'm really glad I started this challenge. It was a big eye opener for me and makes me much more conscious of our food costs. Feel free to keep participating and sharing your meals and costs because it always offers oppoturnity for inspiration.
