    Default Lunch Ideas for kids

I need more ideas! Totally in a rut.

We don't do many sandwiches but do have:
    Wraps
    Homemade lunchables
    peanut butter with dipable veggies
Those tuna/cracker lunches (my lazy lunch)
    hummus with veggies

Along fresh fruit, granola bars, fruit leathers and sometimes yogurt smoothies.

Need to find a good granola bar recipe cause buying them is expensive!

And that is where my ideas end. Sandwiches are ok but I am lazy and for some reason this seems more work cause I have to prepare in the morning. Everything else I can have prepared the night before.

My kids eat a ton of food. They also have snack so I have to make the granola bars for that.

For my daycare kids we do alot of soup with grilled cheese sandwiches. Or soup and crackers. A favorite here is grilled pb&j. Mini tacos, with tortilla chips instead of taco shells. They also like the cocktail hot dogs dipped in BBQ sauce, I usually give them mac & cheese with it. Hmmm, I'll keep trying to think of different things I give!

Just thought of another one, since dd is eating it right now. Chili, with Fritos scoops to dip into it.

My daughter loves pasta cold. I often make bowtie pasta the night before, add some olive oil, a little salt and pepper and chill. Especially healthy if you can find whole wheat bowtie. They also love yogurt in the little squeeze tubes. I freeze them in the freezer and it is like a popsicle. How about homemade granola. I have made that numerous times! I have also sent cereal with milk in a thermos.

    I should be doing this

The wide mouth thermos has been my best friend for years now. My oldest daughter isn't very fond of sandwiches. So, whatever I can fit into a thermos - in it goes. Last week we actually put enchiladas in there. It wasn't pretty, but she loved it! Chili & crackers has been a favorite as is ramen noodles (but it tends to soak up the broth) But that's ok in their book, noodles is always a welcome lunch.

Another big hit with them is PB & banana sandwiches. We're ok with sending peanut butter at our school. I bought these banana saver's online to keep their bananas from being crushed in the lunch box. So, they build their sandwiches at school.

I'm always on the look out for more ideas. The wrap idea might be a keeper. I'll have to try it out. My girls come home for lunch most days. But in the winter, if it's really cold they stay at school.

When my kids were little i made them sandwiches on rice cakes. They still tease me about them but they ate them. Hard cooked eggs or deviled egg are good. How about cold fried chicken. i still like to do this one when my hubby and I travel all day to visit our kids. I just have that the night before and make alittle extra. Something else we like is homemade swirlbread with cheese and bacon or sausage or ham. After that is baked you can just slice it and eat it cold or warm it up. How about cottage cheese? Hope you get some new ideas.

My kids use their thermos almost daily. Almost any leftover from dinner can go in there. They also like to take a corn dog or hot dog. I've even sent scrambled eggs and potatoes and gravy. My kids like taking cheerios in a gladware container, they add milk and a banana there.

Their favorite thermos use-put it in the freezer all night. In the morning add ice cream. Obviously not the main dish, but a welcome dessert when things need a little wow factor.

My kids like banana dogs. You spread a hot dog bun with peanutbutter and put a banana in it instead of a hot dog.

Another favorite is smore pudding. Put chocolate pudding into a Gladware container and top it with mini marshmallows and send graham crackers to dip it with.

Rice Krispie treats, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers, leftover pizza or quesadillas. All big hits.

My son loved hard-boiled egg cut into slices lengthwise, applesauce, baby carrots, and some kind of healthy cracker.

He also liked cheese cut into sticks.

    Default Lunchbox lunches for school

It's getting close to that time of year again and since it has been several years since I've had to pack any lunchboxes, I thought I would see what everyone's fav. kids' lunches are?

I know sandwiches are an option, as well as wraps, but what are some of your kids' favs. that they request time and time again?

    I would love some ideas!

    TIA!

How do you keep the corndogs hot? Or do you just bake them and let him eat them at room temp.?

I woulda never thought about sending corn dogs. My 15 ds. absolutely loves corn dogs, not hot dogs, but corn dogs definately!!
    Go figure?
