were they one of the participating locations? If so, I'd call corporate.

I checked with my local KFC (it was listed as a participating store) and they have a sign on the door that say they can no longer except the Oprah coupons as of immediately May 6th as it was a short term offer and only while supplies lasted. Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused you.

So I checked the net and saw on the message board of the oprah page about the grilled chicken coupons that the info I had linked to before about participating stores and call if you have trouble was no longer on the site but people talking about it there. One said that the KFC corporate head office said that store should no longer except the coupons. Hubby guesses they couldn't afford all those free dinners.

edited to add this that I found
"Each coupon promised two pieces of grilled chicken, two individual side orders, and a biscuit, while supplies lasted.

But the response was so overwhelming, supplies rain out in many stores and Thursday afternoon KFC decided to stop the give-away.

The Louisville-based chicken chain is asking customers to take a rain check for the new product.

KFC President Roger Eaton said Thursday the company will mail coupons to customers in stages so people can enjoy their meal in a more relaxed setting. It will throw in a free soft drink to sweeten the new deal."

I am surprised that KFC wasn't more prepared for this. I mean, free food in this economy and then advertise it on Oprah?? On the other hand, they probably knew exactly what they were doing by creating such a mess. This deal is all over the media--after all, even bad press is still press.

Sounds like a little bait-n-switch to me.

    Default Kfc coupon raincheck info

I can only spell it out since I haven't posted enough!

So KFC posted on the website that they were overwhelmed with the response - they had it on our local news - on the first day accepting one KFC received 600 COUPONS! They couldn't keep up with the demand for them, so they are offering a rain check for a later time. If you printed the coupon, you can go into your local KFC, they will give you a raincheck form to fill out - you attach your coupon and give it back to the manager, and they mail you a coupon with a free meal PLUS a drink! its a lot of hassle, but hey its still going to be free.
They are still going to honor their original promise, and then add a little bit, but you will have to do a little work for it! i have a KFC next to work so it won't be a big deal, but if you have to drive THERE to turn the form in, and then drive BACK to get your meal - you may weight whether its worth the gas money for a $5 meal.

You can't get too mad at them - they don't HAVE to give you free food, right?

I was able to print out 2 coupons. My Mom and I used ours yesterday with no problems whatsoever! The grilled chicken was yummy!

They took down the info as it appears from news reports that KFC has called off the use of the coupons.

Thanks for the link about the rain checks

I got my free lunch today! We got 3 2 piece chicken meals w/ 2 sides at El Pollo Loco. No problems redeeming the KFC coupons. They were great about it.
