The last I read in the paper was that Toy R Us are going out of the toy business and only going to have baby items and such. They said in the paper that they can't compete with stores like Walmart.

Our local TRU is the smallest, dirtiest TRU I've ever seen. When I first moved here, there wasn't a car in the customer lot and I thought it was already out of business. lol

The carts are all old and rusty. Not something I want my kids in or something I want to touch when shopping. YUCK.

Plus, our TRU never has anything.

Bye local TRU...You would have had to offer something in order for me to miss ya when you're gone. lol

I always felt like saying Excuse me...you are in the toy business aren't you? Then where are the...umm TOYS???

Well that just stinks. They just remodeled our stores, and they are awesome.

Is it all of TRU, CJ (meaning in Canada and US)?

Our Walmarts are disgusting. Dirty, stuff everywhere, ugh. I will have to buy our toys at Target. No way no how will I rely on Wal Mart for toys or anything else for that matter.

I won't miss TRU because their prices were always higher than most places. Once in a while you could find a deal there. I think I may shop there once a year if that.

Around here we have all three-- Babies R Us, Toys R Us, and Kids R Us.

The clothing stores have great clearance prices & sometimes they come out with good coupons.

I like TRU for hard-to-find things, such as the elusive Teletubbies DVD we wanted (needed!). Otherwise, though, we buy most of our toys at WalMart or Target.

I think I heard they will be going to Babies R Us. Ours will probably just close up. I did find some off brand Pull-Ups for $2.99 and got the last bag. The diapers were all still regular price here.

To find the clearance items you need to scan the stuff and look for prices ending in .98, then it will be 50% off that.

They are going to Babies R Us. Its really sad, because Walmart does not carry the education toys that Toys R Us do.

Chelle, the article said US & Canada.

Also Toys R Us had the most wonderful selection of books I've ever seen anywhere. Walmart (at least the ones I've been in) carry a very limited supply of kids books.

btw Chelle, I'm with you on the Walmarts. They are not well kept and the people are the most unfriendly people I've ever had to deal with. As these types (TRU) close, watch the prices go up at Walmart, guaranteed!!!

If they do go out of business I wonder if they will at least keep all the baby/toddler toys and sell them at Babies R Us.

I still like walmart for toy's and games better since its cheaper (all the walmarts I've been to are nice) I've never really seen a dirty wal-mart around here.

I did like Toy's R Us because when I wanted one, that was about the only place I could find Puzz 3D puzzles. Other places had them but TRU had a better variety.

I went today and there were hardly any items in the store ending in 98¢ - certainly not anything I was interested in buying. I don't know where we'll go for Rescue Heroes stuff if TRU closes - we don't shop at WalMart and the Target here has stopped carrying RH stuff.

I checked out the TRU website, which goes through Amazon.
    www.toysrus.com

No big clearance sales there, just the usual.

They do have free shipping off of much of their closeout stuff right now, though. There wasn't much there of interest to me, but those of you with older kids might find things.
