    Default Latest Yard Sale Finds!

and I went yard saling today! This is the first time he's ever come yard saling with me, and although we were both exhausted, we had a great time! I'll be making several trips to and from the car to get everything in (he's at work) but here's the inventory of what we bought:

~ 4 onion soup bowls with lids and 1 small bean crock = $2
~ 2 woks (they were exactly the same, one for use, and one for parts) = $1.50
    ~ 1 dish dry rack set = $2
~ 1 phone = $4 (the lady sold us the phone and dish dry rack set for $5)
~ large flat cast iron skillet = $2
    ~ AC adaptor = free
    ~ cupboard steps = $1 for 2
    ~ Samsung VCR with remote = $6
~ set of 5 stainless steel mixing bowls = $5
~ can of kitchen utensils = $2 (includes potato masher, bread knife, pasta spoon, pasta fork, wooden spatula, salad fork, 3 wooden mixing spoons, pasta "comb", kitchen mallet, small metal spatula and filleting knife)
    ~ 4 pasta baking dishes = $1
    ~ 1 battery recharging system (no batteries) = $3
~ 1 book by Scott Cunningham (my favorite Wiccan author) = $0.50
    ~ 1 beautiful wallet (an Xmas gift) = $0.15
    ~ 1 large oven roaster = $3

Still in the car, because it's too big for me to carry:

~ 1 table set = $5 (just the table, legs and leaf for the middle)
    ~ 1 computer chair = $10

    Grand total: $47.65

Got a lot of great items, we're pretty pleased with ourselves!

I got some great yard sale/thrift store finds today. Mostly books to read and then post on PaperBackSwap.com.

    Yard Sales:
~6 books for $2 (some great titles and they were in great shape)
~3 books for $.75 (two of the books I got there were kids books I'd always wanted to read and never did "Anne of Green Gables" and "Rebecca of Sunnyside Farm").
~Large Lavender bath set (Christmas Gift) $1
~4 Baby blankets $1 (Christmas gift for my new nephew)

    Thrift Stores
    ~Natural Home Remedies book $1
    ~2 books $2.50
~Huge organizer box with cross stitch floss organized by color $4.99
~6 large skiens of light colored yarn (going to use the baby blue to do a little hat for my nephew on my knifty knitter round loom)
~Huge bag with a large variety of yarn skiens and some small crocheted pieces (haven't opened it yet, may be some blocks in there) $5.99

Oh, and at Walgreens in the Clearance section
~Scarf knitting kit (complete with yarn and knitting needles) $4 (marked down from $13). I'm wanting to teach myself to knit.

I'm a newbie here and was thrilled to see a place to brag about thrift shop/yard sale finds! My fiance and I love a bargain but our families don't appreciate our finds. Here is some of the things we got yesterday at a thrift shop...all in my size:
3 new White Stag sleeveless button down shirts
1 new St Johns Bay pink T shirt
    2 pairs new Venezia shorts
1 pair new Basic Editions shorts
1 pair new LA Blues shorts
3 pair new New York and Co. jeans
    1 new Roxanne bathing suit
It was $2.00 a bag day at the shop and these clothes were just being put out when I went in. Needless to say I crammed my bag full, paid my $2.00 and left grinning from ear to ear!

Hi I'm new here! My dh went garage sell hunting today for a book shelf and this is what he wound up getting:

a really cute shelf for books/DVDs/etc. (and it even has doors to keep DS out of it!)
around a dozen baby and kids books for DS
6 Nintentdo 64 games (yes we still have one of those!)
a big box FULL of Avon shower gel and bubble bath
a "Smithsonian" model of the solar system for DS (when he's older)
a few yards of some fabric that I can use for something in our bedroom

He got all of this for $20!

By the way, Sally47, that sounds like a business oppertunity to me! LOL I'd get a bag and fill it with name brand stuff and list them on Ebay!

Wow, you guys did great! I planned on going but didn't. We went in to see Gripey's mom and brother and sister from out of town. I did get a couple of less than 1/3 priced swimsuits at Penney's on the clearance rack though. I was needing a couple for a trip later on in the year.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~
