Questions about phone numbers on free samples
I noticed that a lot of the forms require a phone number on the sample request. I really don't feel comfortable putting my phone number down.
Just curious, how do you all handle this?
Thanks,
Dixie Jean

I usually put in a fake number, just use the same area code as some programs can check to see if its a valid area code within your zip code area.

I'm like Julie, I use our old phone number. I no longer have a land line. I refuse to give out my real number.

I use my old home number, we only have cell phones now. I feel sorry for the people who get/or already have that number.

I always use a 555 number. It is number that is never assigned to anyone so they only get the unable to complete call message when they try to telemarket.
The NetZero private phone sounds good to begin with but when you read the terms of service it says this...
NetZero will collect, store, compile and utilize information about you, your computer, your phone number and your use of the NetZero Services including, without limitation, information regarding the Web sites you visit and information that you provide in response to NetZero questionnaires, surveys and registration forms. NetZero may provide this information to third parties including advertisers, clients, marketing organizations and others. However, NetZero will not disclose your name, address, telephone number, credit card number(s), e-mail addresses or other personal identifying information to third parties other than those acting on behalf of NetZero, unless you give NetZero consent to do so or except as may be required by law. Please refer to the Privacy Statement for the NetZero privacy policies and information practices.
It will fill your machine with spyware. Yucko! I don't want any part of it.

I either use a made up number or use my area code with 555-5555. I only use a made up # if it won't accept the 555 #. That does happen occasionally. The fake # is usually my # all mixed up.
