store surveys
Has anyone called or filled out the store surveys that seem to be so popular to have at the end of receipts? Has anyone ever actually won the $10,000 cash? Do you have any concerns about giving out your information? TIA

I don't do the surveys because I think it is just a guise to get your personal information for them to use to solicit you. I never give out my personal information at stores. I will give them my zip code but other than that I do not think that they need my phone number or address. I do not want to get calls from them and I will read the sale circulars in the paper so I do not need them to mail anything to me. When I have to fill out information for rewards cards in the stores I give them random information, never my real information. I give a phone number that I know will not be in existence and a non existent address, I have never had any trouble using my cards before.

I filled out the survey for Shoppers Drug Mart, and while I didn't win the cash prize, I did win a free magazine subscription, which never seems to expire. It's been 3 years now, and I am still receiving this free magazine.
I wasn't worried about them having my personal information, because I already have a "points" card with them, and as such they already have all of my personal information anyways.personal loan 900/15000

Last month a won a years supply of haircare products and a $3000 shopping spree. All I did was buy my shampoo and use my HBC rewards card. If my info hadn't been correct I never would have gotten the prize. So yes I always give the stores the info they want and I always do the reciept surveys. You can't win if you don't enter!!!

I have won 25.00 gift card from joann's fabrics for calling the number on the reciept, and answering questions about my shopping experience. That is the only time I have ever won anything. I occasionally do other surveys, If they have my information already, from frequent shopper cards and the like. but I have never recieved anything but the occasionaL coupon or two. and the coupon is usually for a percentage off with purchase.

I should call the number on the back of the Taco Bell receipt from last Saturday. Normally, I don't do fast "food", but we were travelling and not only was the $3. something I spent not mine, but it was just easier than a sandwhich. I know I requested beans instead of meat and the manager (I assumed she was a manager as she was wearing a blouse instead of the uniform), said that I didn't request beans, according to the computer. Also, I requested the Fiesta Salsa for a sub, after I saw the nutrition information pamphlet advertising it. I even showed it to them, after I interjected the kids' conversation, trying to figure out what she wanted. I stopped short of saying, "Here's a novel concept. Why don't you ask the customer to what she is referring?" Ugh. Once things were straighted out, it was pretty decent. Taco Bell is about the only fast "food" place I'll tolerate, and that's only when necessary. They're actually almost healthy. I digress.
I figure it wouldn't hurt at least, just to have a customer's opinion expressed.
Peace and blessings,
Laura

I will do the surveys if they're short or if they offer coupons. Around here, Petco, Babies R Us, Friendly's, and Denny's will have surveys that if you complete them will get you $2 or $3 off your next purchase. I've never won anything.
I do give my information out, in case I win. I figure that the worst they can do with my information is spam me (I can hit the delete key), send me junkmail (I can throw it away) or call me (I can hang up the phone).Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)
