Default Houses For Sale For $1

    http://www.virtualnorfolk.org/public_documents/norfolkma_historical/$1

The following houses in Norfolk, MA although currently assessed for hundreds of thousands of dollars are available for purchase for the sum of $1.00 each. What's the catch? The houses are scheduled for demolition as the present owners want to rebuild with new construction on the current sites. You can purchase the houses for $1 each but it is your responsibility to move them, in their entirety or by disassembling and reassembly, from their current location to a lot of your choice. You would have to pay for the cost of the move to their new address. Still it's a great deal - if you have the inclination, the property, the time and the funds.

Houses in move in condition, plus their illustrious histories - all for the sum of one dollar.

****I would love to have the first house listed, but would hate to have to pay for the move and set up on my property. ****

Wow, what a steal! That'd be an awesome way to get rid of a building. Moving the house couldn't possibly cost more than building it from scratch, could it?

Norfolk, MA is a beautiful town so if someone could move the house within town it would be a slam dunk. A house for a dollar in a beautiful town. Wow!!!

That is a good deal. I wonder how much it cost to move a house.

Beautiful!! And yes, I wonder how much it'd cost to move (and rebuild).

I'd love to have the first one. The farmhouse that has already been demolished is cute too.

    Wow!

Does the price include the land too?

    I did find this:
The easiest way to move a home, and to determine the cost to move a house, is to contact a professional moving specialist. They will come in with a crew, take a look at the house's structure and the proposed moving spot, and will provide all of the necessary equipment for the job. They should be able to come out and give you an estimate for the job and, in many cases, can recommend contractors who can help you coordinate the move. Generally speaking, you should expect a cost of moving your house (not including the take-down and set up of home utilities, foundations and other home systems) to be between $8,000 and $40,000.

Dh & I were watching a Katrina special and there was a couple who moved their house. It cost them $100,000 just to move the house. Not including any disassembling, reassembling, utility company moving power lines, traffic control, or re-setting up of the house.
