Traditions in your area of Canada?
I phoned my sister in PEI this morning. I heard via the family grapevine that she has apple potlucks every fall! Well I had to check it out. turns out she does! Last weekend they were running apples through the cider press and eating apple pies and just generally having a fun time with a group of friends.
Here we have potluck BBQs in summer and attend/host the occasional Medieval feast. Our town is known for music. There is lots of it! You miss the whole point of this town if you opt out of the music scene.
There's this small town near here that does a Dickens Christmas one weekend every year before Christmas. The whole town gets into the swing of things. Everyone dresses up in the era of Dickens and there are even street urchins to toss pennies to...and you better have pennies for them! lol
What do you do in your area of Canada, or as a family that is a bit different than other places and people? (aside from frugality!)2012 Challenges

Edmonton is known as the Festival City. Every summer we have the Blues Festival, the Jazz Festival, the Folkfest, the Fringe, Shakespeare in the Park, and the Art Works. We also have the Taste of Edmonton.

Thanks Bookworm. I have relatives in Edmonton. Next time I visit I'll have to check out the festival scene!
I must admit I have an ulterior motive for posting this query. It's called the easy way to plan my next vacation.
