Frugal Friday 5/14/2010
Thought it fitting that I start this thread as this is our last Furlough Friday of the school year!!
The only thing that I must do today is to finish the 4th costume, take and post pictures!! That's it and then that good deed is complete!!
what are you doing on this Friday?Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

We are seeing some sunshine today even though it remains cold so I will be hanging out a couple of loads of laundry.
Also I have to get some grocery shopping done.
I also want to get into the garden and do some weeding.
I may also do some baking, depends on the time.
Have a great day everyone!*Avril*

It is going to by sunny and warm here today. So I am going to wash and hang out my daughters comforter from her dorm room.
Will make jello and pudding in small cups for snacks and lunches.
I did my grocery shopping last night. I do need to run to walmart for some things that are cheaper there.
Flyers are on tonight so will stay home with the family and watch the hockey game.

I'll be away for the weekend. So before I go I need to pick up the house, pay bills and mail them and finish packing. Have a great day everyone.

Today my project list includes finishing up the reorganization of my pantry, some basic house cleaning and lots of laundry. It's recycling pick up day, so I will be looking for anything I can send off in those bins too.
This morning I'm having coffee before I meet a good friend for coffee to save a little $$. I will use a coupon for a free bagel instead and have water. Save the difference.Erika

~Staying home today so using no gas.
~Using less body energy since we aren't hauling all kinds of stuff out of the inlaws house. But I do have to clean my own house. Rest of time will be spent reading or here.
~Dinner will be leftovers, have bunches in the fridge and room for nothing else so it's time.~*Darlene*~

Dh's motorcycle is broke. So, dd and I got up and took him to work at 6:45, then home to get her ready for school. Then need to pick her up at 3:00, come home get dance ready, go to dance studio. Home, then wait for dh to call for us to go get him. What a waste of gas today.
Other than that, I'm hanging out and doing some housework.

It's my last day off before heading out flying for 4 days. I need to pack up some snacks/food to take with me (so I don't use up my entire per-Diem and can save the extra), pack my suitcase, tidy my apartment, plan my menu for the 3 days I'll be home next week, workout and finish my laundry. I've been exhausted/stressed lately so I'm hoping to find some time to just veg out with a good book and tea.
I want to kill my mortgage! 192,391/197,370 (since July 2011)
I'm attempting to live by the principles of The Compact in 2012. Wish me luck!
2012 Financial goals
- make an extra $15k over and above any flying pay (1705/15000)
- pay an extra $1750 off my mortgage (557/1750)
- bring EF back to $10k - $3533 left to save
- avoid lifestyle inflation
- improve investment plan (change accounts) - *grumble grumble* Bank made a mistake, need to re-do paperwork
The Financial Goals I've achieved: increased RSP contribution to $300/mth, posted budget on FV for review, saved $1600 to go on vacation

Today... I am spending money

Well, not as much as I would have to... I love gift cards!!!
I got a $10off/$10 purchase at Kohls - bought Diva 2 pairs of shorts
I bought Diva an electric guitar and amp ~Her birthday is Monday and it's the only thing she has really been obsessed about for years. She is an artist and a musician. She outgrew her acoustic.
I need to do some laundry today, take another show and fake looking human for Diva's 'family birthday party' tonight at the Chinese food restaurant (Outlaws pay for it)
Tonight I will make a list of snacks and things and hit the Dollar Tree on Saturday for Diva's 'official sleepover party' next Friday.
I can't be out of money... I still have checks left!

I'll be picking up DS6 from school and bringing him home for lunch. Then, we're going to go for a nice walk and get him an ice cream. The poor thing fell twice and scrapped up his knees, so I promised him an ice cream today.
I'm just going to go out and water the lawn and spread some more grass seed. I still have a bit of a sunburn and a small headache. It'll be 22 here today, so that's perfect shorts weather.

Frugal Friday, May 21st, 2010
It's raining cats and dogs.
But, it was a beautiful sunny day yesterday while I shopped with my mother. (I hate shopping and usually dash into WM or somewhere for only what I need, but it was a good excuse to take my aging, shopaholic mother to lunch----and a nice walk). LOL!
Today, I need to finish getting my boys' rooms in shape for their visit next week. Yay! (see 'my boys are coming home' thread)
And put some furniture together that I bought. (much needed)
And dust and vac the attic (it's finished and carpeted...and DIRTY!)
We'll see how much I can get done (and whether my energy holds out----GAWD, I'm getting old!)______

It;s a "nothing" kind of day here. Not going anywhere, house is already picked up, laundry is all done......
maybe I'll organize my pantry. it's a real mess right now!
We have a few more weeks of homeschooling, so that's definitly on the agenda!

Not spending money on nothin' else. Gave the vet a donation for yearly shots-but that was frugal as these cats sneak out and could get everyone sick.(other cats). Established my DS w/ a family DR.-copay. So meals at home,no rented movies,no shopping of any kind. After paying Visa I am Brokety Broke for 9 more days.WAAAGH.!!
