    Default Fab Friday!

First time in two days we've seen the sunshine, but it's not too hot, so that's a blessing. Last time I looked, temps are expected to be in the lower 80's.

I paid a few bills this morning and got them in the mail. Drive is still a little sloppy, DH will have to get the box blade on the tractor and smooth out the ruts this afternoon.

Got a load of wash going, and I still need to go out to the garden to see what goodies I can find. Thinking I will pick a few green tomatoes to fry to go with supper (I haven't decided quite yet what I'll fix), but fried green tomatoes will be on the menu along with some fried squash. The eggplant casserole I made last night was wonderful. It was the first one of the season, and we scuffed it down. DH even got a second helping and called it dessert, LOL.

Other than finishing the wash and deciding what I will fix for supper, I'm gonna work on a scrapbook layout.

    What's your plans for today?

Gonna do some wash, for sure. I'd like to run to the Farmer's Market and get some cheap veggies and fruit, because we need some! Have to go to Target and trade DS's diapers for a size up. Maybe buy more diapers with the coupons and gift cards I have saved up before the sale changes. We're also going to pick DH up from work at 5pm and maybe go see a car that's for sale.

It's so hot. I've got sheets and pillow cases on the line, they'll dry fast for sure.

Changed the sheets on the bed.

Put some carrots on to cook for dinner tonight.

Picked two zucchinis from the garden. Dh asked if I could let them grow a bit bigger. Got the tape measure out to see how long they were. Ok, four inches is a little small.

Changed the water for the chickens and washed out thier feed bowls.
Sprayed the hose in the shady places to cool thier yard down a bit, and make the insects fly around so they can get a snack. Picked some black eyed susan leaves for them to munch on.

    Watered the garden.

Looked at the tomato plants. Baby Romas Tiny and green. Moved the scarecrow and fake rattlesnake around to keep the wild birds away.

    Watered all the impaitiens.

    Hypnotized the rooster.

There's not much else to do today. I'll wash dh's clothes when he get homes from work, so they'll be sure to be dry by Monday. Dinner is all planned and it's pretty simple.

This afternoon I'll will clean out the henhouse, then take a shower and wash my hair.

Oh my, I miss my chickens so much. I would spend several hours with them each day. All of my feathered babies were killed when a tree fell into the hen house one night during a storm when a hurricane passed close by us a few years ago. I was so devestated! I raised each of my 9 hens and 1 rooster from tiny chicks. DH and I are now planning to rebuild the pen and hen house in another location we have cleared from trees. I can't wait to start over again.

Carolyn, the fried squash sounds yummy! Now I may have to go to the grocery store and pick some squash up! Just the mention of it is making me want it.

On the agenda for today is laundry, laundry, and laundry! The weather may cooperate where I can hang the laundry out to dry.

LOL, I used to do it to my rooster so I could grab him, put him in the hen house before he could spur me. When that wouldn't work, I would throw a net over him.

We were supposed to have a thunderstorm here, but other than a quick shower for about five minutes, it's been sunny and sort of overcast. Ahhh, good ol' fashioned Nova Scotia weather -- no one can make hide nor hair of it more days.

Went to Job 1 today from 8:30 to 4:30, and then straight to Job 2 from 4:30 to 9 tonight. After all that tonight, I will be going home, doing my Afternoon and Before Bed routines. I also have to come up with something for supper. I'm hoping to figure out something fresh and delicious but chances are it'll be another pasta meal tonight.

We are getting ready to go out of town first thing Sunday morning so we have spent the day trying to get the house spotless. I hate to come home from a trip and things not be in perfect order.

We cleaned out a closet which was a huge one!!! It took 3 hours to clean it out and go through everything.

We also cleaned out the laundry room - again.

We cleaned up the kitchen, dining room, my room and bathroom.

We trashed so much stuff - our huge outdoor trash container is full, plus we have 7 more bags of trash. I am going to go in the morning and take the bags that won't fit in the outside container to the pick up site. Our city won't take your trash if it is not in the container they provide. But they do have drop off sites available on Saturday mornings - so off to one of the drop off sites I go.

DH took my truck in to the dealerahip and had the oil changed, front and rear brakes replaced and had my antenna replaced. He then came home early from work with pink eye.
