Default What do you pay for a bar of soap?

They're on sale for 25 cents each. I never really looked at soap price (just bought whatever was cheapest.) Is 25 cents a bar good?

    I typically don't -

I hoard the coupons for $1 off any Johnson's Buddies product, then use them to purchase the Johnson's Buddies bar of soap for 99 cents. = free

I've got dozens of them ~

also, you can get hotel soaps, samples of body wash, etc.... all free.

if I were out of soap, I think I'd just use shampoo til I could get more free soap ~

    but that's just me ~

I am with bumplett. I do not pay for bar soap.
Walgreens had a deal about a month ago for oily soap. 2/$4 and get a coupon for $4 off any order. There were coupons out for $2 off at the time so they paid me to take it out of the store.
But if I had to pay for it .25 is a good price.

I buy a 3 pack of Ivory bar soap and it is .89 and I wait until the .25 cent off the bundle pack comes in the coupon insert and then buy it. Mostly, I use liquid soap purchased at a warehouse store.

I haven't actually had to pay for soap in over three years, so I don't know what a good price might be. Free is my favorite price.

I use the body washes when they're a really good price (soap dries my skin out), and I haven't had to buy some body wash in a long time. It's mostly because I just rub my skin down with the leftover shampoo suds from when I wash my hair. I buy soap for my husband in packs of six when it's on sale for about 1.99 per six pack. He doesn't go through alot of soap really fast but the kids like to play around with it and wash themselves, so I consider the soap being put to its best use for the price I get it.

DH uses ivory soap and the best that I can get without a coupon is 3/99cents. I haven't quite gotten the knack down for sales/coupons and such for HBA so I can't say I have ever gotten my body wash or DH's ivory for free but occassionally I do better than alright.

Yep, $0.25 is a good price around here. I try to not pay over $0.35 for a bar of soap.

We don't get soap that cheap here. The cheapest I've found it is $2/bar, and frankly, you don't want that kind of soap. I tried to buy some at Dollarama or the Dollar Store and it was rough on my skin. My daughter refused to use it and started buying her own glycerine soaps.

However I'm allergic to scents in soap, so I have little choice. I can use Ivory, which I am thoroughly sick of after all these years, or something more expensive. This is one area I splurge in. I order my goat's milk soap from The Great Canadian Soap Company in PEI. I phone them and order their standard bulk bars for $3 each, 20 bars at a time. That's a year's worth of soap for us. My skin is happy, my nose is happy, my family is happy, and that's the way it is.

Kudos to those who can use the cheap soap though. I wish I was one of you!

A couple of years ago we got several bottles(over 20 of SoftSoap body wash free (coupons combined with sale at CVS). Since then we have also picked up a bottle here and there when they are free after rebate, free after ECB or free w/coupon and sale.

Several months ago my mom gave us over thirty bars of Dove. Then she sent over 18 more bars of it.

We won't have to pay or soap for at least another couple of years.

If we did pay for it, I would think $0.25/bar is a good price.

To me it would depend on the brand of soap. If it's Dove or Oil of Olay, then yes, that's a wonderful deal. If it's some el cheapo brand..no..not so much. LOL The only cheap brand I like is Ivory...usually I use Dove or Oil of Olay and dh love Pears soap and it's usually $1 a bar but I did find it 3/$1 at Walgreens and cleaned out 2 stores of it. LOL

I think 25 cents is a good deal for a bar of soap. The body bar soap I buy works out to about 33 cents a bar. I also have to buy the gentle, fragrance free bars of soap for my sensitive skin. The one I use just for my face lasts me about a month but it costs $3 a bar.
