Some of the recipes were the best things I got out of the book (cuban bread is the BEST). I took alot from the books, but honestly my favorite was the recipes!

For me, the best thing about her books, was just the "swift kick in the fannie' to keep me being frugal. I KNOW to do most of what she says in the book, but I tend to get lazy, so when I re-read her books, it gets me re-energized!!

For me it was the overall fact that little things add up quick. Of course the costs in the book are out dated but when she showed how to break down the cost of homemade compared to store bought it does put it in perspective.

For us, it was the entire mental perspective thing -- "how many hours do I have to work, to pay for this?", "how can I do this cheaper, but better?"

For me it is the overall idea of thinking frugally. Their story motivates me.

I just love the idea of how everything adds up. She may only save .20 doing this one thing, but if she spends every day doing LOTS of things that save .20, it really adds up! I also love how she calculated her "hourly wage" for doing things!
