Where do you see yourself a year from now?
I'm wondering with all the negativity and stress that can be/is induced by the riseing cost of living if when people look to the future they are still projecting positively overall.
For me I hope for even more to be accomplished but I "feel" a realistic year from now will look like----
~both of us still working our current jobs
~complaining about the cost of health insurance, gas, and groceries
~both boys doing well in school and preparing DS#2 for the start of middle school
~ the laundry room touch ups done
~the living room repainted and the wall finished - carpet laid
~ the kitchen - new walls up, floor down, cabinets and countertops installed
~ hallway wall finished
~ still stressing over the falling apart original bathroom, driveway, porches, and garage
~ on the look-out for another vehicle
~ 20% less owed on the morgage than is now
~ saveings down due to the home improvements
~ still have a saveings
~still contributing to retirement accounts
~stocked pantry
Overall it looks pretty positive for me but there's so much more I hope for. That I feel like should/could happen. I don't have much control over those other things though and can not make a realistic perdiction. I feel like these are pretty solid. Where do you feel like you'll be in a year.

Next year if things stay relatively the same economically I see my fiance and I:
still working our current jobs
complaining about the cost of health insurance, gas, and groceries (definitely complaining less if prices level out soon)
I plan to completely pay off my CC debt or be very close to pay off in one year from today
We will be in our same apartment
We plan to be driving our same cars (already paid for, no more loans)
I will continue to work on my stockpile throughout the year, so I hope to have a nice one in a year's time.
I hope to maintain an EF and then after the CC debt is paid down I will beef that up as much as possible.
I hope that in a year life is still positive for us, it seems like it should be. We will weather the financial storms and hopefully come out stronger for them. I just pray for good health for the two of us and our families. Wealth is less important to me than good health for us and our family and friends

Well.....
We hope to have our home sold and our move to Iowa completed. But at the rate the house showings are going now, who knows?
Whether we stay here or move, we hope to keep on teaching part time. If we move, it means that we look for new part time jobs.
We hope to continue to stay out of debt. We hope to continue to downsize.
Just got a notice that our health insurance is rising again, so we know that in a year, it will take yet another hike.
I actually am optimistic that we will be doing OK in a year, despite the many rapidly rising costs, simply because we live frugally, and have no debt. It won't be the standard of living that we envisioned for our retirement years, but we won't be destitute, either.Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.
Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

1. Keep on writing.
2. Get some balance in my life.
3. Lose weight. Hopefully 5# this year. (9.5 pounds right now! Yay, Me!!)
4. Continue to be looking for how God wants to use me this year.

We are planning on putting our kids in public school (we have been homeschooling) and I plan on looking for work within our local community. The jobs here don't pay as well but I can be home when my kids aren't in school and I also wouldn't have the cost of gas. Our family is really to the point of not being able to make it on one income any longer. We have done this for twelve years and it's starting to get really tough.

This time next year I see us -
~both DH and I working our current jobs
~saving for retirement at our current rate
~almost having DH car fund fully funded
~being better off savings-wise than today
~put blinds up in the house
~complete small landscape projects (shape the yard)
Once DH car is purchase I will be able to "retire" and we can start a family! This is our main goal over the next year so we are very focused financially.

I'm anticipating lots of significant changes in my life in the next year, lots of financial preparation.
Knock on wood, but I think/hope DH is going to be at this job for years. Even though I'm about 95 percent sure everything is okay, especially since they're expanding in the midst of others cutting back, I still worry. I think his freelancing will still be going strong as well. And please please please let us see good health. Everything depends on that, really, money and health.
If financially everything stays cool, even with the rise in the cost of living, we will see a huge reduction in our debt load. No more CCs, the business loan will only have a few months left, and my student loan will be gone. So that will leave DH's student loan and one car. Hopefully hopefully!!
Where will are with the debt and job outlook, what we are spending on DH's 20 minute trip to work, and if it looks like the housing market is bottoming out, will determine if we renew our lease next May or finally buy. We're considering waiting until 2010 though for a bigger down payment. We're hoping to move within walking distance of DH's work.
Hopefully, I'll be preggo, too. We're going to start trying again in October.

Lets see, a year from now dh will be returning from the Sargent Majors Academy. We will be better off financially once he finishes up the schooling. With that promotion comes a $1000 a month raise.
Ods will be finishing up his sophmore year in college and yds will be finishing up his junior year in high school.
Hopefully things will be better economically in the country but I have doubts about that

It's a toss up. I can see myself holding a cardboard sign that says will work for food.
Or winning a daytime Emmy.
LOL
On a more serious note, this year will be a real surprise. It will be interesting. this year
will only be teaching chemistry (yay! one prep...)
should be a good academic year
no major expenses anticipated
will need a new air conditioner in the future
right now living paycheck to paycheck, if any wants such as travel, will need summer job 2009, or find ways of passive income, such as "no air conditioner challenge" or roommate
hopefully, a boyfriend (temple worthy LDS preferably) or dating
i want to get my physical body in shape. i feel rather gross, unkempt, and fat after the annum horribilis (year of the divorce)
i want to rehabilitate the english garden in the backyard, was neglected this past year.11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

In a year, I hope that we will have a house, that I will be settled into a new job, that I will be pregnant, and that I will have made a significant stockpile to get us through the year long maternity leave on 1/2 my income. I also look forward to having a year of marriage under our belts, maybe I'll be used to saying "My husband" by then!! LOL
I hope to not have to face any major tragedies in the next 12 months, and that I am able to get pregnant, since we can't afford fertility treatments that aren't covered by DH's medical.
