    Default Insurance Savings!!

    Hello...

Before I leave for work I wanted to share my awesome deal today. Our car insurance is insane here in SC because we are so close to the water. Not to mention we live in a crime high area.

It was almost 550 dollars for liability only on a 1994 Civic for 6 months. (In VA I was paying 232 a YEAR)

We were with Esurance and I was determined to find a better rate. So this am after searching many online quotes, I now have Geico at 175 for 6 months!!! HUGE HUGE Savings!!!!

    YAY!!!!!!!!

Always a good idea to check prices and compare, for any service you are going to use!

    Have a great day!!

    Megan

Holy cow........that's a huge savings, wtg!! Is it still the same coverage as with the other company? I'm curious as to how the other one could've been charging sooo much, that's a big price difference. Great job on saving money!

    Yes,

its still the same coverage (state minimums). I couldnt believe the difference either. I compared several large companies and it seems that Esurance is definintley not the cheapest and my guess is alot of people dont comparison shop and instead just watch the cutesy commercials and buy it.

THank god I changed it. I had only had it a month and it was going to take it out of the bank tommorrow and I thought...No way. So I cancelled that policy and now they will be sending me a refund check for 60$!! Yay!!

Way to go!!! Ours is almost $1500 for 6 months and that's the best rate I could find. You must not have a DH with a lead foot!

    Hi...Just got home from work...

Oh NO, he has a lead foot alright. It was going to be 101$ per six month period until they checked his DMV record after I entered debit card info...then it brought up his speeding violations!! Men say women are bad drivers...I have never had a ticket or accident since I have been driving!

Since MA just actually deregulated auto insurance rates, I'm looking forward to shopping around when our policy is up. We're paying $2000/yr for 2 cars (2004 Civics) with (currently) perfect driving records and $1000 deductibles!

I while back I read an article in Consumer reports that basically said that the price you pay for loyalty to your insurance s higher rates.
They recommend shopping around at least every 3 years (remember those yearly increases add up over time)
