    Default Gold Star Day!

    Yesterday was such a good day, I've given it a gold star!

    1.) A/C was out, not cooling... tried everything. Called repair man at 8 am. He was at the house by 2 pm, had it fixed by 3 pm... no charge! Huge relief!

    2.) Went to lunch with mom and a friend... she drove. Had just completed a freelance project for the friend. I left lunch with a check in hand. Next stop, the bank.

    3.) Stopped at the bargain store (bent & dent place) and picked up sunflower seed meats $1.29 for 12 oz. Smart Puffs cheese puffs, 50 cents. Health Valley Organic bruschetta crackers $1.29. Go Natural nut bars 59 cents each. Orville Redenbachers Kettle Corn 59 cents for a 3-pack. All snacks for daughter in college to snack on, total spent was $8.47 for a full bag of snacks!

    4.) Went to WalMart to pick up just a few odds and ends... and decided to get shrimp because I've been craving it. It was on sale... extra large, peeled, deviened... $3.50/lb! I got 2 lbs and am going back for more.

    5.) Worked in the yard and garden with hubby and picked peas, hulled them, blanched and froze them... got about 2 cups yesterday and more on the way. I love harvest time in the garden!

    6.) Checked on wild fruit around my place and I've got to get busy! Mulberries are ripe, logan berries aren't far behind, and the wild plums look great this year! Lots of jam to be made!

    7.) Hubby was notified by a gardening friend that he is having a bee hive delivered to him as a gift... it should arrive soon! We have another local friend who is an apiarist and he promised us the bees for a hive when we got married 8 years ago... we weren't ready for them at that time, but we'll be giving him a call now!

    I bet your daughter will love the snacks.
    Our garden is coming in nicely. I noticed yesterday berries and coming on, yummy, I can't wait.

    Wow.....not many days are that good...... I am getting ready to plant my tomatoes...we have had such crappy weather for so long it will probably be November before my tomatoes are ready!!!! and then they will be already frozen for me!!!!

    They are pretty rare... so I think it's important to be greatful and appreciate them when they come our way!
