Has anyone seen the price of flour!?!
I had to pick up another 5# of flour saturday so I could bake yesterday and the cheapest I could find was 2.50. The King Arthur brand I usually buy was $5.59. Yes, I said $5.59...f
or 5 pounds of flour! I know that we discussed flour going up a few months ago, but I mis-calculated what I needed and didn't stockpile enough. (I usually have a bag in the deep freeze.)

I used to buy King Arthur Flour in my 'spend it like we got it' phase.

Not anymore. Sigh.
The el-cheapo nn brand at my local store used to be (last fall)--$1.95.
I bought a bag of the same nn brand the other day--$2.69. Yikes.______

I used to pay about $1.79 for KA flour. (shows that it's been a few months since I had to buy it!) I found that I couldn't use store brand flour for my bread because it would never turn out right. KA breads always came out well. Time to cut bread from the diet!

I buy 10 pound bags of King Arthur flour at BJ's for about $7.50 (at least it was that price last month). Still too much for flour but I won't switch so I have to find it where it is cheapest. I think I have 30 pounds in my freezer...I will check thte price the next time I go to BJ's and pick up some more.

Last year I could get it at the commissary (Gold Medal brand) for 69c/5lb. Now it's $2.99 for the same bag of flour at the commissary.
I get the cheap stuff at Aldi for about $1.89/5lb

Glad I stock up a couple of months ago. I've got 30 lbs. of flour in the freezer--should last me a while. I've never noticed King Aurthur flour in the stores here.

I can no longer afford to be picky, I just buy whatever is cheapest.

It is crazy. I've been trying to buy it in the bulk 25lb bags at Sam's to cut down on the cost.

Well as a Canadian I have to jump in and say we have had to pay flour prices like that for several years at least. If fact I have never seen flour prices as cheap as those you mentioned as regular prices. OUr premium flour brand is Robin Hood flour. We don't have KA flour, at least not on the west coast.
