    Default Happy dance

I owe almost $1000 to the hospital and have been making payments to grt it there and I got a letter from them that says if I pay $650 this month they will forget the rest--a $350 savings.

So I tweaked, wiggled, and stole from the budget and I can do it!

    I am very excited!

Wonderful!I've also had similar savings from dr.s and hospitals, just calling the billing dept., asking to speak with the manager and ask if I pay today will you discount this? They almost always do. I'm thrilled for your savings!

That is excellent! Don't forget to hold on to that letter forever just in case they try to come back for the rest.

That's great news!!! Remember though that any portion of a bill that is forgiven is considered income at tax time.

That's great! I had a lab recently take off 25% if I paid in full by a certain date (like within 10 days). You can bet I re-arranged things so I could pay!
