What Are You Saving For?
Aside from EF's, looming recession, and wanting to be a SAHM, is there anything, in particular, that you and your family are saving for?
When summer ends and I'm back to a regular paycheck, we have an extra savings account in a different bank than our regular checking and savings accounts that we call the "house fund." We are currently saving toward getting our bathroom redone. We could borrow from dh's 401k or from the stock he has in his company to get this done sooner rather than later, but we want that money to be there for a rainy day and if it doesn't rain, to live comfortably in retirement.
What about you? What are you saving for? A new computer? Car? House? Anything? My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

We were saving for our honeymoon but that was last month. Now we are saving for our baby due in December. It is our first so we need everything.

Oh I have a LIST of things I should be saving for. Right now I'm saving for a new computer and a mini vacation in August (tentatively). I'm close.

We're saving for a few things:
remodeled bathrooms
new furnace
new side deck for the house
I guess I should call it the house fund instead of the savings fund.

Right now we are struggling JUST to pay monthly bills. I have decided that I will put in the money from change into a savings account to get something started.
I hope DH gets disability (we're going thru application process now - waiting until he has his dr appointment) and things will be much better if he gets approved.

We are currently saving for a new roof. Dh will do it himself, so it shouldn't cost nearly what it would if we paid someone. We were saving money to buy a dog, but we bought that this week. After the roof, we will start saving for a new car again.

we save just to save.......we have no big purchases looming that we know of, but that way, when one comes up, we have saved, and we can pay for it, what ever the IT is!

~We're really in need of a home addition. We have around 800 sq ft (four people sleeping in 2 small bedrooms). The kids need their own rooms.~

My main savings, besides EF, is a trip to Disney, hopefully in two years. I've got time to save up plenty for the trip, and spending money.

Cataract surgery for our latest dog.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"
