    Smile buying from Avon

I have been reading threads on being frugal from where to buy goods, to making household detergents, soap, etc and this may have been posted and I just didn't see it; but, I haven't read from anyone about buying from Avon. They do have some good sales on deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, etc. I buy deo for my DH and myself when it is .99.And then stock up. The kids use it too. A few of our boys like Old Spice and Axe so for b-days and Christmas I will fix a bag with those special items. DD likes the shaving gel from Wal-mart so she gets that on b-days and Christmas. But other than those times, it comes from Avon. Does anyone else do this?

Avon is great for those sorts of things. And 79 cent lip gloss that I buy for my girls for Christmas. The deodorants are great, but I wish they came in solid form too. I hate the sticky feeling of deodorant.

There are some good deals to be found, and you can browse a current brochure on their site

    Ebay diva popping in here...

I love Avon, but find that most of the things I like in their catalogs are NOT very frugal. I loved their perfume called "Extraordinary" - unfortunately, they discontinued it after a very short run. It was also $25 for a 1.7 fl. oz. bottle.

    Ahh...the magic of Ebay....

I started searching for my perfume on Ebay, and lo and behold, there were full size bottles to be had for $0.99 plus $5 shipping. A whole lot less than the catalog price! I stocked up. (Wanna see my Extraordinary stockpile?)

The lip balms, etc. are great from Avon - but if there's something you really like that is just too high priced in the catalog - check Ebay!!

I get all of my Mary Kay stuff from ebay ~ its way cheaper and having sold most of my inventory on ebay (from my very very brief attempt at multi level marketing), I know most of the stuff is just peole trying to offload their excess stuff.

Avon junkie here. I only buy the good sales. I have not bought from them in awhile though.

I would love to be an Avon rep because I love the products but don't have that many contacts.

I love avon. I get alot of stuff from them. I always buy the items when they are on sale. I don't buy the det. because I like to use the solid also.

I actually sell Avon and i have less than 10 people as customers right now. Since i work full time I have not put the time in to further my customer base maybe some day. So of course i buy avon and i have customers who put together really cute gift baskets for not alot of money. Also each campaign has an outlet book too.

Nope. I'm allergic to something that is used in their prodcuts. Maybe not all but just not gonna take the chance of hives again,.

One of the reasons I stopped selling Avon was because people were selling Avon on Ebay which is against their rules (or was when I was selling several years ago). I just couldn't compete with those sellers (or the deals that avon.com offerered).

It is still against their rules for the reps to sell the stuff on Ebay. I am a rep and I also have less then 10 customers. Though the profits from the few I do have cover the cost of things I want.

Haven't bought from Avon in ages. Don't think I will start up again since everything looks so nice and shiney. And I have little self-control when I see the catalogs.

I'm allergic to many of the products I've tried.

My son ordered a ring off of the Avon online site for his sister for Christmas and they sent the wrong one. They never did fix the mistake. This was a $50.00 ring. Thankfully she liked this ring anyway.
