The post got me thinking.. Do you know you can tip with good around your home and not just money to service workers. I've worked with plumber and married one and I also know air condition, oil, and other in your home service techs and they love goodies too.
Baked goods, games if you know they have kids, cleaning out your attic or basement do not feel bad about offering that stero you never use or like.

Plus service tech love I mean love customers who offer them a cup of coffee or some ice tea. Want to limit them disappearing for lunch offer them some sandwiches Landscapers love getting a cold drink and work better hydrated.

I do not mean to go out of your way but little gesters like that mean more then money and they are more likely to remember you and do a cleaner job.

janis, these are all great ideas. You definitely can "thank" someone for a job well done by means other than money. And, I think people appreciate any gesture that you make. I agree with you 100%.

We had our house painted a few weeks ago (a four day job with 3 guys) We had cold bottled water available and homemede cookies. They were a terrific crew of guys.
When we travel we always carry an ice chest with cold drinks. We've offered them up when stuck in road construction....

I would never have thought of traveling with water to hand out when stuck in traffic what a great idea.
A trip to Virginia a few years ago there was a bad accident on 95 and people were opening up their RVs for bathroom use, and bringing out beach toys to play with in the road( we were sitting still for over 3 hrs) I was never so thankful to all those folks
