It is true though, that if you live far from neighbors or simply don't pay attention to what they are doing life can be happier.

I tend to do this subconsciously. I don't gravitate toward people who live like that.

It does become an issue when one's family are the "Joneses". A bit hard not to associate with them!

If I have to be around them I just giggle to myself at how silly they are and come on here and post about the "stupid" things they bought, did, etc! (just kidding)

Not only do I stay away from the Joneses, I don't shop in their stores, I don't watch their tv and I don't expose myself to their advertising via magazines.
