    Unhappy Waaaaaaaaah!!!

Ok!! Enough!! Murphy can kindly EXIT my life!!!

This has been a sucky year financially and it just keeps getting worse!! And I'm not even talking about the inflation/recession affects of everything!!!!

We've already been through the whole "broke my foot" thing...with no insurance that was about $600 of doctor bills!!

Already had car issues this year to the tune of about $750!

Dh went to dentist like 6 months ago and was told he had like 4 or 5 cavities and we still haven't taken care of that. He NEEDS them fixed...but it's been so long since the x-rays he has to get another exam done...so all in all about $1200 (if we're lucky!!).

I started an Algebra II math class this summer as I've already taken Algebra I in college. Guess it was too long ago, cause I didn't remember jack! My choice was to keep going and screw up my GPA (affecting future scholarship opportunities) or withdraw and start over. So, there's $500 of lost tuition!!!

Dh broke the faucet a few days ago in the kitchen where we rent so now we have to replace that (something comparable is about $200).

And to make matters worse the car started making a whining noise today. Stopped by our mechanic to get her checked...he thinks it's something about the rack & pinion. Mechanic wants me to bring the car in again on Monday (when he has more time) to do some sort of pressure test to make SURE that's what it is before he starts the work (at least we have an honest mechanic to go to). But, that will be to the tune of about $500.

Can I cry? I'm just tired of fighting it all. I'm at the end of my rope... What's that saying "tie a knot and hang on"? Can someone please tie the knot for me...I'm just worn out.

Hey... I'm offended. I'm calling the race card. The Irish didn't make this so hard on you - did we? LOL

Can I ask where you broke your foot? was it at home? can you file under your homeowners?

Ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure. (I don't know the foot situation - but could that have been prevented too?)

Wait - you mean to tell me that one class in math - will elimate scholarship opportunities? noooooo...

Hey.. when you need to take English writing classes.. go to the Writing lab and ask for help. They practically write your essay for you! LOL

Normal wear and tear. The landlord is responsible. Unless he blatantly did something to break it.. like smash your computer over it.. hey.. it's happened to me - it could happen to you.

It could be worse. Does tranny sound familiar?

You may cry. It's cathartic. And you're NOT at the end of your rope. You just need to look ahead and see what you could do to prevent future problems.
Good mechanics, proper care of the body and teeth, keeping checkbook balanced- stuff like that.
Always be thinking "what would be the worse thing that could happen here (remember Murph?) and do I want to risk it? What can I do to prevent Murphy from showing up?

I slipped in a parking lot over the winter...didn't even realize it was broken for a couple weeks, thought it was just sore cause I jammed it...just no way to prove it to the store.

We've had several dentists say that Dh is prone to cavities for some reason...he does the regular preventative stuff.

Not unless you can skip walking outside in the winter! Gotta love long, icy, cold Alaskan winters.

Yes, there are math labs, but it was an accelerated math class. I tried to do enough back work to keep up, but got farther behind by the class. The grant program I'm going after is based on GPA...

We're renting a MIL apartment from people we know at a GREATLY reduced rate (so we can afford to both go to school). They're going out of their way to help us... I would never expect them to fix something we broke...especially after all they've done for us. The lady even brings us food when they have extra! And part of the deal is that we leave it as good as we found it (which certainly isn't fancy, or even very nice, but it's functional).

I know we'll make it through...it just gets so darn overwhelming.

I don't know how we can keep old cars from wearing out. That's just how it goes; we do regular maintenance. It's certainly less than a car payment on something new, but we can't really afford that. At least we have our EF...

Checkbook is always balanced, accounts up to date. I'm REALLY picky about that.

If there is a dental school near you, most treat patients at 1/3 of the cost of a regular dentist.

The dental school is a good idea but if there isn't one then check around at other dentists. I have found that they charge wildly different prices for things. Then when you pick a dentist, try to negotiate the cost. Many in the medical world will negotiate the price down when asked if you don't have insurance. Hopefully the light is at the end of the tunnel soon for you!
