Yay...grocery success!!
I did awesome today at the grocery store! I got a weeks worth of groceries for $35. Now, it would have been $30 however, DH loves granola bars and the store I went to had a value box of 20 bars on sale for 3.97!!! SO i got two boxes. I saw the same box "on sale" at another grocery store for 6.97, thats why I got two. Also, I shop the clearance produce corner, sometimes you find wicked deals there. I found a bag of green peppers (3) that had nothing wrong with them except one was split ( i think the box might have fallen out of the truck or something) for $1!!! I'm gonna chop them anyway so that was really cool. Normally 3 peppers would cost me $5!! So needless to say, I'm very happy today!!

sounds like you did really good, does your store discount meat as well? Our does, but you have to get there early, have to fight those SC (senior citizens) for the good package. Their tough with those canes! Some stores have reduced sections in every department, that's always nice. I'm always surprised when some people frown upon buying reduced merchandise, its really the same as if you brought it, and left it in the frig for a couple days. As long as you bring it home and use it right away or freeze it, no problem. Good job, enjoy your savings!

Actually, the funny part is, I had a SC commend me on my savings!! She saw me buying the clearance produce and rushed over to ask me if there were any good deals. I told her about the peppers and she was impressed. She told me that not enough people are frugal in this world and it was a shame (such an grandma thing to say..lol). She was also behind me in line and when she say my total she said "good for you!". It was quite funny!
We do have clearance meat, but I only needed hamburger, hotdogs and ham today, i got them all on sale!Debts

It's not unusual for stores to discount meat first thing Monday morning. Because business is so busy on the weekends they have to 'upstock' the meat cases. What's left on Monday morning's gotta go. This is especially true for stores that are off the beaten path.

Wow, that's really great that you got your groceries for a week that cheap. I wish I could do that.
I always hit up the 50% off meat and buy as much of it as I can. They never have 50% off chicken at Superstore but I can get ground beef for pretty cheap. The cheapest I've gotten it is 92 cents a pound. Last week, lean ground was on sale for $1.69/lb and I bought 10lbs worth. I have enough ground beef to last me into mid-August.
