How late do you hang your clothes outside
In the cool weather today as I was hanging out clothes, I was wondering who else hung out clothes at this time of the year and how long do you go before you finally give in and stop hanging them out in the fall.
I'll go until I can't take the cold on my fingers, which is getting pretty close to now.
How about you?

Well right now I can't hang mine out as we have no line yet. However I did at our old house and I did it on every sunny day over 40 degrees.
Being southwest TCX we have lots of those

I'm with you CJ, as long as it is only 1 or 2 loads, I go as long as I can stand the cold. Which isn't much longer here in NY either!
If it is a major wash day, the things that have to be hung up are
the only ones that go outside and the rest go in the dryer.
In the spring I may be out there with a winter coat on. I love my clothes on the line!~~ Dee ~~

I hang outside on any sunny day over 40, otherwise the heat is on inside and I can hang in the basement.

I am home today and I was wondering if I could hang my laundry out. It is really overcast today, but about 70 degrees. Will they still dry?

Betsy, yes you can, as long as its not raining they will dry, might take just a little longer but at 70 shouldn't take that long.

Since my dryer is vented to release heat/humidity into our house, I use it when its not going to be above 65. I do laundry first thing in the morning, and when its 60 in the house, my girls appreciate the warm air coming from the laundry room

Does the dryer vents coming into the house not cause the lint to come inside as well?

Tammy- there is a special attachment thingy..(cant remember the name) that you hook up to it. It allows the warm air to come out, but has a screen on it so the lint doesnt fly out...it keeps going thru the vent.

I think so..ours was given to us. You need to be careful when you use them though. You cannot use them with a gas dryer, and they do cause a lot of moisture. our washer and dryer are in our bathroom, which is used to moisture and was painted with mildew-proof paint. but i also turn on the fan above the toilet, and leave the door wide open to allow heat/moisture to come out into the house. The mirror gets fogged over, but nothing really get wet or anything.
i wish I could tell you where to find one.

Tammy, you can use a knee high stocking too. They seem 'to work better than cut off panty hose because of the top on them.
But like Tara said, check and see if it is ok with your dryer first
as they can give off fumes.~~ Dee ~~

Thanks Diana, I have heard about using a stocking too. I forgot to mention that one. My dh was concerned at first about it catching on fire, but the nylon wont flame, if anything does happen it just balls up. When my thing breaks I will be using the stocking method
