Direct TV
Well I just signed up for Direct TV. They have a special right now for a one year contract at $29.99 a month. So with everything it should come to $35.00 plus tax. This will be cheaper than what I pay in cable of $56.99. Once the one year is up it will cost $58.00. The main reason I did this is the channels on the cable plan I have just don't have what I want to watch. There are just to many channels with some type of crime scene investigation or reality tv show which for me I just don't appreciate. So I will be saving some money for now. Didn't get any movie channels. Thought I would wait and see what the 150 channels had to offer.
Thought I would also post the prices in case anyone else is looking to change tv service.

We had DTv basic or enhanced - nothing premium, for a long time. I went back to Comcast because DTV got away from their TiVo partnership, and the TiVo HD only worked with cable cards.
Course I hear now they're buddying up with TiVo again. Figgers...If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I have directv and enjoy some channels, but it all just seems the same old thing lately. I have really noticed a lot of home shopping channels and I can't believe we pay for all those infa-mercials. I would be happy to go to regular t.v., but my hubby would have a fit (sports nut). I will say I have had no problems with service and you can easily change your programming online.
I do wish they had a service where you only paid for what you watched.

We had to lower our plan. In laws had almost everything. I made DH take it down to family plan. We lost alot of channels but at least we have a few that we watch. I can't believe that we can't pick and chose at least some of the channels that are included. There are TONS of shopping channels, I don't like those. Anyway, we went from $60 to about $30. We have to have DTV or Dish cause we can't pick up any locals - even with rabbit ears.

Well I will be interested to see what type of channels I will get. Will stay away from the infomercials. I seem to be the type of person they aim there commercials at. LOL
Right now I have basic cable service with a movie channel. For me TV is part of entertainment.

I have Comcast Digital Cable. The reason why I hate DirectTV with a passion is because somehow they found my new address where I never had DirectTV or even asked infomation about it keep sending me mailings to sign up for it. At my previous address, I did have DirectTV for a short period of time. I even tried contacting them but for some reason, I keep recieving them.

We just signed on with them too, mainly because I'm mad at Mediacom that we can't get the Big 10 network for the second year in a row! I don't watch TV much so the 2-year commitment is a little scary.
We bundled our phone, internet and TV for a savings of about $250/year. As soon as my cell phone contract is done I'm going to add that and hopefully will save a little more there too.

I love our DirecTV. We are big tv watchers and with all the moving around we do w/ the military it comes in handy to have something stay the same. Here in Cali we have bundled our Verizon DSL, landline, DirceTV and cellphone into one bill and got a discount.

I use and like DirecTV. They are the best for sports - which probably isn't all that relevant in this forum
