Family Dollar has the 2 liter Coke products for $1.09. This is their regular price & it hasn't changed in months. They also have a small selection of the 12 packs at $3.29. CVS has the 12 packs on sale this week 3/$10 with a $2 ECB ($2.66 per pack). I'm still able to find sales at least once, maybe twice a month here.

Good time to give up soda! It's so bad for you, anyway.

The rising price of soda is affecting us in a different way. My husband works at a manufacturing plant where they make aluminum cans. As the economy gets worse, people are cutting back on this "luxury" of buying soda. It used to be a good job (union with benefits and a decent wage for someone with no college education). They used to run the plant continuously, working 12 hour shifts, 4 on and 4 off, with pretty much unlimited overtime. Now they work 8 hr shifts. Then they closed the plant Sundays, now the whole weekend, and he just learned today that they are going to shut down for the next 2 Mondays also. This just seems to continue the cycle in which now we can afford less, too. This means we are buying less of things which then puts someone else out of work! I hope something changes or he may be looking for a new job-not that there are too many to find right now!

Speaking from a person who has a total caffeine addiction the price raise of pop has affected me sorely. I can now only afford to buy pop when it's on sale for 4/12packs for 10 dollars. I love to drink milk at night an try to get in some juice during the day. But if pop continues to rise I think I might just start drinking flavored tea!
