Arrow Coca-Cola is raising it's prices...

I just read an article that since coke sales and profits are down, they are going to be raising their prices after Labor Day. I'd post the link to the article, but the info was mainly on the stock...and had nothing to do with the prices going up.

I'm wondering how much the prices are going up and how they think that is really going to help! As it was, I bought a diet coke on impulse the other day (i had been craving pop, since I hadn't had one in weeks) and it was $1.49 for a plastic bottle! Eeeep! If people aren't buying it now(probably becuase they can't afford it)....is raising the price really going to help them bring in business???? Seems like an oxy moron to me!

People will pay the price because people want their pop! (I am addicted to Coca Cola... but I am working on it!)

But yeah, it doesn't necessarily make sense... unless you take into consideration that Coca Cola has to pay higher fuel costs as well to distribute their products....

WOW! Congrats to you for not drinking pop! I don't drink it regularly, but every once in a while I get a craving for it and nothing else can cure it.

So glad I'm not at all "addicted" to pop...not that I don't have other caffiene addictions!

Argghh!!! DH likes to take Diet Coke in his lunch. It ALREADY seems too expensive to me.

How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

When I am really poor I just buy cheap pop. Not the same but will have to do.

I don't drink soda at all unless I'm at a restaurant which I only eat out once every 3-4 months. Sweet tea just tastes better to me. I've never really saw the appeal to soda. I may have 2-3 a year.

Ugh!! This is already a major "peeve" of mine with the grocery bill. DH drinks only cola. Not just any cola either, only Pepsi, RC, or Coke. Very occassionally, like once every couple of months, he'll have a glass of water. Soda is a large percentage of our monthly grocery budget. I think I have even a harder time with it because as far as I'm concerned it's also very unhealthy. Milk isn't cheap either but it never bothers me that the boys go through so much of that.

My hubby is the only one in the house who drinks pop. However, he isn't picky and will drink any kind. We usually have sales on Pepsi here. I only buy it when it is a good sale and he doesn't drink too much of it. He also likes Iced Tea and Gatorade which I buy a HUGE container of mix at BJs and let him make it as he drinks it. Much cheaper. He loves Iced Tea during the summer so he has been drinking a lot of that lately.
