    Default So Proud of DD!

So, awhile ago, Dd and I were in Michael's (craft store) and she saw this book "Have Your Own Craft Sale." She wanted it SO badly. So, we checked the price and I told her that if she really wanted it, she needed to start saving for it.

So, as always, she's been splitting her allowance between spend and save (for college in her bank account), and her spend money is being saved for the craft sale book. She's also been asking for extra jobs and I've been able to find some for her for a quarter here and a quarter there.

Tonight, she counted up her money and she finally had $20 (we included tax in how much she'd have to pay). She asked me to call the store and see how late they'd be open. They were open until 9 and so she asked me to take her there. We went and she went right to the book and brought it to the counter and bought it with her money.

The book itself is just a little kit about how to sell your crafts...not a book with craft stuff itself. So, when we got home, we looked at all of her craft stuff and she decided that her first sale will be greeting cards. So, she made a bunch tonight before bedtime. Some are really cute.

Tomorrow, she wants to set up a table at the end of the driveway and try to sell to the neighbors. I'm hopeful she'll sell at least one thing so that she feels good about it. I'll be calling Grandma and Grandpa to do an accidental drive-by.

I'm just so proud that she saved up the money and really worked for it and that she's so enterprising with her "business."

    Did I mention that she's only 7?

Cool! You'd be surprised how many people stop for a cute little face at the end of a driveway! Hope you're in an area with traffic going by. It's amazing what kids can earn selling their stuff.

I hope she sells a bunch of them. I remember when my kids would try to make money, when my oldest was 5 she picked dandelions and would sell them to our neighbours and family.

What a sweet heart! I always stop for little kids selling stuff. My mom told me that when I was little I used to go around selling paper airplanes for a quarter! LOL!

Good for her, I love her attitude! Hope her first sale is a big hit.
What will she do with her profits? Reinvest? Can't wait to hear about her next venture.:money:
