Have you ever bought food off of ebay?
My DH takes Snickers Marathon Bars to work. They aren't cheap. I can find them for around $1.25/bar. Just out of curiosity, I looked them up on ebay. There are some great deals, but I'm hesitant to buy food off of ebay.
Thoughts?

Because we have very few stores in my area, I take advantage of ebay stores all the time, I buy my sushi supplies, nori, pickled ginger and sushi rice. I also buy many of my spices. Have you checked the price of your bars at Amazon? Many times if you spend 25.00 you can get free shipping as well.

I had never thought of buying food on e-bay. My first thought was "no way" but then, why not? But I would only do it from someone with really good feedback.
I really hate how suspicious we have all become - it's almost a reflex nowadays to distrust first. My nail-biting e-bay experience was an international purchase, something I was very hesitant to do. It was an expensive (for me) stone carving from a seller in India. But the feedback was excellent and I got some of the best service I ever did on e-bay, and a really unusual and beautiful piece of art. It was a reminder that most people really are decent, honest and fine to deal with.
Ok, that was irrelevant. But if you get a good deal there, it would be worth trying.Donna

I've bought coffee off of Ebay. I did it without thinking and was a little nervous when I drank the first cup, but I'm still alive. I think it's probably fine to buy food off there, but I wouldn't do it again.

I bought Vanilla beans to make my own vanilla extract. They were nicer than what I had found at the specialty store.

I second the thought that most people are legit and good sellers.
It is very sad that we think the worst of people first before anything else.

I've never bought any food off of eBay. I would only do it if the seller has an excellent feedback rating.

Thanks everyone! I think I'm gonna go ahead and try it (afterall, its DH's food, not mine!)
. I can get the bars for about $.60 that's about half price! I've looked on amazon, but they are cheaper here at our Grocery Outlet.

I would not buy food off Ebay. People often dumpster dive for items like food, makeup, etc and sell it there. Too gross, in my opinion.

I purchased very high-quality saffron from a seller on Ebay for an incredibly low price. Also vanilla beans to make my own vanilla, and when low-carb products were still around, I bought those there too. Cheaper than retail, even including shipping charges.
The only thing I'd watch is that the seller lists any expiration dates on the auction listing, or you could get outdated products.
