    Default Question about trash bags...

I have been using those Glad Force Fkex for quite some time now. LOVE THEM! But, my stockpile has dried up and I can not afford Force Flex any longer.

Does anyone know if the dollar tree trash bags are any good? Or do you know of a good CHEAP brand from the regular grocery store. I started with Force Flex because I was tried of running through the bottoms of cheap trash bags.

    Any suggesetions?

the Walmart brand (Great Value ?) has trash bags that are just as thick as regular Glad brand bags (I don't think they have a "force flex" version though). I always look at the "thickness" rating of bags before buying. Glad bags are 0.9 ml thick, the walmart ones are 0.95 ml thick. Some of the cheaper bags are way thinner ( like 0.4-0.6 ml) , and I won't buy those.

I agree with the poster above...get the Wal Mart brand just make sure it's not the ones with the yellow ties..they tear out and are more costly. With 7 ppl in the house these bags can stand up to alot.

The ones from dollar tree are pretty much the only ones I buy, and never had a problem yet. Just make sure you get the 8 ct in the orange box with the draw strings. The other cheap type they have in a blue box are crap.

Wow, looks like Wal-mart wins. For now I'll hit dollar tree since I live 40 minutes away from a Wal-mart. But next time I'm out that way I think I'll stock up.

I feel the same way about the White Clould diaper wipes they carry. only $1.50 for a refill pack. Every time I'm out that way I stock up on those.

Walgreens sells TUF brand. I bought a bunch when they had a rebate in store on them and have been very pleased with them.

I think I bought them 3 boxes for $8 plus got a few bucks back on rebate.

    Yep, I agree, us too.
I'm not real familiar with the force flex ones other than the commercials they show on tv., and the wal-mart ones don't "stretch", but they will defiantely hold alot of garbage before breaking.

I do know that the Save-A-Lot ones are not worth the trouble. Even with double bagging them, they are paper thin.

I'm getting ready to start buying the HUGE boxes of Sam's club bags, anyone have any insight into these?

We use these. They are pretty thin but surprisingly are also pretty tough. I was disappointed with how thin they were when I got them, but we haven't had any rip yet and we've been going through this box for a couple of months. YMMV.

Thanks BudgetMom for your insight into the Sam's club bags.
I know they will be considerably cheaper and I won't have to buy them as often either, which will be really nice.

From your description, they sound alot like the BJ's warehouse ones that I used to buy, they too, were suprisingly strong.
