Default Gas is Dropping in Michigan!

    Hey everyone...

Just about 15 days ago, gas here in Michigan was around $4.25 a gallon. About 10 days ago, it dropped to $4.18/$4.19, then $4.09.

This morning, I got gas at a local gas station for $3.88 a gallon. Granted, not all gas stations are on board yet - the station across the street, and one down the street were both still at $3.99/$3.98.

I never thought I'd be HAPPY to say "I got gas for $3.88/gallon" - but it beats $4.25 any day.

Let's hope this is a good sign of things to come, and that the hurricane season will be at least somewhat kind to us in respect to gas prices.

I was excited to see gas drop 10 cents the other day.

You all know better than that. They won't lower food prices - only raise them and use a different excuse.

I had to get a little gas yesterday and it was $4.09 here in Western Maine. Better than the $4.12 a few days ago.

Hopefully the trend will happen all over the country. I would love to get back to Texas and see that gas prices have fallen there too! We can only hope that food prices will follow.

I saw that too! I was on my way to a party and it was $3.98 for regular (I have to get premium - that was $4.20.. WAY better than $4.45.. sheesh)!!

I hope it's still down today when I go to the store.. I always get a $.10/gal off coupon after groceries!

Wow, that's awesome! Last night, they said gas was on average about 1.36 per litre here in Canada and that works out to 5.26 a gallon. I hope it goes down here because we're looking at doing alot of driving in mid-August.

During the last six months, as I have watched diesel double, I noticed that everytime the price per gallon decreased a few days later the price would increase 10cents from the price before they lowered it.

Hopefully not this time, but I wont get too excited yet!

It was $3.99 where I got my gas today. Sure beats paying $4.25+ a gallon for gas

GG is right. They raise the prices and get everyone in an uproar about the high prices. Drop it just a little bit and everyone goes bananas about the cheaper prices. Then they raise them even higher. Whatever we will pay, they will charge. The profits of the oil companies are astronomical.

Sorry, but I am excited about the lower prices - even if they are just temporary - I have to drive DS16 to his summer job for the next 3 weeks, which means an extra 18 miles out of my way every morning. I'll take whatever I can get right now.

I'm happy to see the gas prices down. I too hope that it's a sign of good things to come!
